How to REMOVE Google SEARCH BAR from Home Screen on Android Phone: step by step how to!

Quick step-by-step tutorial on how to remove the default Google search bar from the bottom of your Android home screen and relocate it anywhere you want!

If a recent Android update forced the Google search bar to the bottom of your screen and you can't move it, this guide shows you how to turn it off in your Home Screen settings and use the Google Widget menu to place a customizable 4x1 search bar right in the middle of your screen.

Has your Android phone changed so you now have this stupid Google search bar at the bottom of your screen? I actually like the Google search bar, but I like mine in the middle of the screen where I can actually type easily. You can't move this screen no matter how much you drag it. Let's change it right now. I'm going to show you how to remove the Google search bar from your home screen and how to add a new Google search bar anywhere that you want on your homepage. So, first let's get rid of this. First thing we need to do is to tap anywhere on a blank area of the homepage. You might need to swipe to an empty screen to actually find somewhere to long press. Then down here on the bottom right hand side, it says settings. We're going to click on settings. And if I scroll down, we're going to look for this option here, show search on home screen. Tap on that. And on this screen, we have two options, search and finder. You can toggle these on and off. Obviously, we're going to toggle off search. Then, if I go back to the home screen, you can see that the Google search bar has gone. So, now I want to add it to the middle of the screen. Well, you could do this anywhere you want on your home screens. So, I'm going to long press anywhere on the homepage. And then we're going to look for this option at the bottom here, widgets. Now, we need to look for the app to give us the Google search bar. So, you need to look for Google. And when you click on the Google option, you'll see these different widgets. We want the widget that looks like this one, the 4x1 search bar. Now, this has put the search bar very helpfully on my very last home screen. I don't want that. So, if I long press on the Google search bar, I can drag it back to my home screen and put it anywhere I want. I want it here in the middle. And I'm really pleased that doing it this way has made it big and white. It's a lot easier to see now. Congratulations. We have now added the Google search bar to our Android homepage. Thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the subscribe button. It really helps others to find this video. And right here is what Google knows you want to be watching next.

Why I'm STOPPING my YouTube Memberships

Sharing exactly why I am turning off YouTube Memberships on my channel, and walking you through the entire disable process in real time! This video is essential if you are monetized, interested in recurring income, or considering YouTube memberships. I have 3 big problems with the feature, focusing on the split call-to-action (Subscribe vs Join button), hiding my best videos behind a paywall, and poor user experience of member-only videos in your feed. Full step-by-step tutorial on how to safely disable memberships and why I choose subscriber growth over recurring membership income. Is this a good move?

Why I'm STOPPING my YouTube Memberships

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
I am turning off my YouTube memberships on my channel, but I'm also sharing with you why I'm ending YouTube memberships. And I'm doing that in real time so you can follow along. Because if you're not monetized and interested in how you can earn money here on YouTube, or maybe you have memberships and are thinking about this too, for many creators, memberships work brilliantly. It's a way to make a paid exclusive community with reliable recurring income. For me, memberships are a great space to make less formal and quick to make videos, the more experimental stuff, but there's just something that's not working for me. There are many problems that I have with the membership feature, and this is why I'm turning it off now. So, the first problem and probably the biggest right now, if you look at my channel page or videos where you'd usually see the single subscribe button, I was shocked that instead you see a big fat join button. For me, this is a split call to action, which means a new viewer is being asked to do more than one thing. I think my number one priority right now is hitting 100,000 subscribers. It's purely a vanity metric, I know, but it's important to me. The join button, no matter how great the perks are, and we'll get on to that problem in a minute, the join button, I think, pulls focus from what I want the viewer to do and from growing my free subscriber base. And it turns out that is quite important to me. The second problem is hiding my best work behind a pay wall. The whole purpose of this channel, my whole reason for doing it is to encourage as many people as possible, you to make more videos here on YouTube. When I turned YouTube memberships on, I suddenly realized that all the videos I'm making for members only are all videos I actually want as many people as possible to see. By making the videos exclusive, I'm stopping them from doing the work that I want them to do out in the world. I don't want my videos hidden. I think I want them out there helping people. Which brings us on to problem number three, which is how members only videos are presented in viewers feeds. My members only videos and posts appear in your YouTube feed. You might see a great thumbnail if I've, you know, managed to put some effort into it and you click on it and then you're hit with a pay to see screen. For me, I think that's a frustrating user experience. Even worse, that's one impression, one thumbnail that could have been used instead to promote the videos that I want to be seen. All of this works really well for other creators, but having to build up a whole library of videos that no one's watching in the hope that one day it might equal what I would have earned with Google AdSense is a big ask for me. I'm already working for nothing on this. So then to do that again from scratch with no upside for potentially a lot of work, it it just felt like one push too far. I know, I get it. You've got to speculate to accumulate, but I can only make so many videos per month. To then make even more videos or make fewer that instantly pay so I can make the members only videos, it's just too much for me. Your experience may vary and you may have a channel with hundreds of people wanting to pay you directly every month. I just don't think my channel is there yet. Which means let's turn off the YouTube memberships right now. I'm in YouTube studio on a desktop and we are going to click on the earn tab on the left hand side here. These are all the features that I have switched on for my monetized channel. If I click on memberships, and this has been enabled for about five or 6 months now, you can see the hundreds of dollars I'm earning from the thousands of members I've managed to attract to my channel. I did have lots of videos and posts up. I've been slowly removing them from the from the memberships. To end YouTube memberships for your channel, at time of recording, the option is slightly hidden. I'll put a link to the YouTube help article in the description for the latest guidance. All we have to do is click on these three dots next to your memberships offer. Then click on disable channel memberships. This brings up a warning. If you do, you will lose all of your members and any future revenue that you might receive from channel memberships. This action can't be undone. I will tick the box to say I understand and want to turn off memberships for all my fans, all my thousands of fans there. Then we will click on the turn off button. Oh, it's thinking about it. There you go. So, it's reset itself to the splash page that we had before we started memberships. Grow your community and earn monthly. And if you want to restart memberships, I think yeah, you could just go through the process again. I have a video down in the description that walks you through the entire memberships setup process. YouTube will automatically refund members for their last month's payment if their billing cycle isn't complete. I'm really excited about this because it means I can finally release these hidden videos and get those views and watch time and revenue, but it also helps me feel okay about doing more experimental quick turnaround videos in future. Are YouTube memberships something that work for you? Let me know down in the comments below or to just say hi and thank you for hitting the thumbs up button or the subscribe button. It really helps me to keep this channel going and means far more to me than a monthly subscription. And right here is what YouTube knows you want to be watching next.

3 Ways I STOP Google spying on my phone... Android Privacy Settings!

Do you ever feel like your Android phone is listening to you? You're chatting in the car about a something, and later that day, ads for it show up on your feeds. It's a little creepy. While our phones are constantly tracking our activity, they don't have to listen in on our conversations. There are three simple settings you can turn off right now to get your phone working for you, not against you. In this video, I'm sharing how I disable personalization, stop usage and diagnostics, and turn off those super creepy ads that are spying on you.

3 Ways I STOP Google spying on my phone... Android Privacy Settings!

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!

We all know our Android phones are spying on us. You mention something in passing while chatting in the car, then that night there's a YouTube video or an advert that is exactly all about what you were talking about. It's what it does. Constantly tracking your activity, monitoring which apps you use and what you search for on the internet. But listening into conversations feels like a step too far. There are tracking features which are switched on by default on our Android phones. Plus, they're slowing them down and draining the battery. But there are three settings which we can turn off right now to stop our phone spying on us. Let's do this right now. This is my phone up on screen here. And I'm going to do this in real time as we do this so you can follow along with me. The first thing we're going to do is disable personalization. My phone shares my data with lots of apps, which feels like spying. All that activity is logged and recorded to send me advertising and recommendations that are targeted at my brain. My brain can't take it anymore. Plus, it's my data. Also, it's using my phone's resources, which slows it down and runs down the battery. So, let's shut this down. Go into your phone's settings, which is the cog icon, and look for Google on this long menu. We'll click on this, and there are two buttons on the top, recommended and all services. We need all services. It's almost like it wants to be hidden. Let's click on all services. There are different sections in this menu. Scroll down to this section, privacy and security. And we want this option, personalize using shared data. Click on that. That opens up this list of apps which have access to my data. I don't know why clock is on there. I can't look at that myself. But maps and Chrome are pretty much everything I do on my phone. And device contacts down here is pretty sinister. I'm turning off all the apps on this list. And I hope this will free up some system resources on my phone. Next, I'm stopping Google constantly tracking how I used my phone, which apps I use, how long I use them. It means my phone is always running background processes to send this data. Oh, and it's using my data and power to do this, which doesn't exactly help my battery life. I'm turning it off. In the phone settings, click on the Google section. And then we'll go back to the privacy and security section again. And down here is usage and diagnostics. It's just a single toggle switch. Click on it to turn it off. My phone didn't blow up. And now it isn't sending continuous news about my phone to Google. I'm sure they'll be okay. I can get my phone working for me now. This next one I think is my favorite. It stops those super creepy ads from spying on me. This happened the other week in the car. My son asked me, "How does the clutch work?" That night, I start getting YouTube recommendations explaining how a car's clutch and engine works. It wasn't a coincidence. My phone uses my microphone and other data to send me recommendations and targeted advertising. I'm singing like a canary, spilling out keywords and topics like there's no tomorrow or or billionaire shareholders to feed. I never knew I was that interesting. But let's end this right now. In the phone settings, we'll then go into the Google settings and we'll click on this one more time. All services. Click on that at the top and under the privacy and security right at the top here because they are the most important thing on my phone. We will click on ads. Manage the info used to show you ads and measure ad performance. There are three options here when we scroll down. Ads privacy, reset advertising ID and delete advertising ID. Let's click on ads privacy. And I I'm just going to turn off all of these. I think we have three options here. Add topics, app suggested ads, and ad measurements. I don't like the sound of any of these. There's an explanation on screen now. I just don't think I need any of these. So, I'm going to turn off allow ad topics and go back. App suggested ads. I'm going to turn off allow app suggested ads. And then the final one, add measurement. Why Why would I use this? Let's turn it off. If you know why I'd want these, put it in the comments. But I I feel quite comfortable turning these off. I feel slightly ill because it's so obvious, but I truly don't think I need any of this. Now we'll click back to the ads menu and the next option is reset advertising ID to remove all the tracking data associated with my device. I get a warning message. Of course, this replaces the devices advertising ID with a new random number. Apps can still show you ads, but for a while they may not be as relevant or interesting to you. Yeah, because ads are interesting. I think I'll confirm and turn that off. So, I've reset my ID. The next option down is to delete advertising ID. Apps can no longer use this advertising ID to show me personalized ads. If I click on delete advertising ID, I get another what seems like a warning message. This deletes your current advertising ID. Apps can still show you ads, but they may not be as relevant or interesting. I think I will hit delete advertising ID. There's no confirmation button to press. It just does it. Now, it does offer me this option to get a new advertising ID, but I I don't think I'll do that. I'm good. And that's it. When my wife made these changes, the videos on offer on YouTube suddenly became a little weird at first, but they seem to have got back to normal now. I am calling this a Dad Delivers success. If this video helps you feel a little bit more secure or like your phone is working slightly less against you, thank you for saying hi in the comments below or hitting the thumbs up button. It really helps me to keep this channel going. So, thank you. And right here is what YouTube thinks you might want to be watching next.

Hello, how do you open a locked folder in Google Photos?
How do you even find a locked folder in Google Photos?
You probably know this already, but you can move photos and videos in Google Photos to a special hidden folder called locked folder, and I'll show you where to find it on a laptop, desktop, MacBook, or mobile device like Android phone, iPhone, or iPad.
Let's see how to access locked folder first with a desktop, laptop, or MacBook.
We need to go to the Google Photos website. That's photos.google.com, obviously. Check you're in the right Google account by clicking on your avatar, your face on the top right-hand corner, and on the tabs down the left-hand side, down here is locked folder.
We can't open this until we have entered our password and... we're in. Congratulations, this is our locked folder.
To move photos and videos out of locked folder, just select the photos by ticking on them, then click on the Move button at the top here, where we can also delete or download the pictures.
This is how to open the locked folder in the Google Photos app on mobile devices like this Android phone, or iPhone, or iPad.
On the Google Photos homepage, make sure you're logged into the correct Google accounts by clicking on this Avatar picture on the top right-hand side. Then, we'll need to click on the library tab, which is this button on the bottom right-hand corner.
There's a button along the top called utilities, click on that and scroll all the way down to locked folder at the bottom of the list here.

Safely transfer your YOUTUBE CHANNEL to ANOTHER Google ACCOUNT! Protect it for life!

How do I transfer my YouTube channel to another owner?
Learn how to transfer ownership of your YouTube channel to another Google account or Gmail address. In this tutorial, I walk you through the process step by step, whether you're considering adding extra owners for safety reasons, legacy purposes, or business collaboration, this guide covers it all.
I also cover the difference between personal and brand channels on YouTube, the complexities of managing permissions, and demonstrate how to transfer ownership of your YouTube Channel.
If you need to add an owner or manager to your channel, this is the best place to start.

Safely transfer your YOUTUBE CHANNEL to ANOTHER Google ACCOUNT! Protect it for life!

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
Hello, welcome back to the Happy Hut. I'm Neil, and this is a really big thing you can do to your YouTube channel, probably the biggest.
How do you transfer your YouTube channel to another Google account or Gmail?
Maybe you want to add extra owners.
This is good for safety in case anything happens to you, the owner of the YouTube channel.
So, I'm thinking about having your family be able to access your account as an owner if for any reason you can't get to the channel.
Maybe you want to do this for legacy reasons.
Maybe you want to hand the channel over to someone else.
Maybe your YouTube channel is run like a business or is part of a business or organization where many people need to access the channel to help run the YouTube activities.
Or maybe you want to do this for safety.
There are many, many high-profile cases of YouTube channels being hacked or phished or taken over.
Having your YouTube channel login from a Google account that no one can even guess gives us an extra layer of security. But how do you add another Google account as an owner of your YouTube channel?
I'm doing this for real in real time in front of you so you can follow along step by step.
And I'm sorry to say this, it is really complicated because there are two types of YouTube channel.
When you create a YouTube account for the first time, it's called a personal channel. It's linked to the Google account that created it.
Then, for the second and every other YouTube channel you create with your Google account, they are each called a brand Channel.
I have a whole video about creating a second YouTube channel here or in the link in the description, and you can move your personal channel to become a brand channel.
That video is also linked in the description.
To confuse things even further, there are two different ways of managing permissions to add people to help run your channel.
So, let's take a look at your Channel right now. Go to YouTube Studio, which is studio. YouTube.com, then click on settings, which is this tab on the left-hand side...
that opens up this window, and we can click on the permissions tab.
There's this way here to manage permissions in your brand account.
If I click on “manage permissions”, then I can click on “manage permissions” again.
This is where we can add or change owners.
So, it's on this pull-down menu here.
We can have a primary owner or a regular owner.
Or, you can manage permissions in YouTube Studio, which looks like this where we have lots and lots of different permissions that you can give.
So, to manage permissions which include the owner, your permissions window needs to look like this. But if your permissions window looks like this, you need to opt out of permissions in YouTube Studio.
That's this option here in blue to go to managing permissions in your brand account. And we need to do this to add owners.
At the moment, we can't change owners if permissions are being handled by YouTube studio. So, should I give it a try? Let's give it a try. I'll show you what it looks like. I'll click on opt out of permissions in YouTube Studio.
Everyone who has access to your channel will lose their permissions. Great.
You'll need to re-add their permissions in your brand account. Okay, well, I can do that, I think. So, we need to tick this checkbox.
“I understand I'll need to manually re-add permissions in my brand account”.
And then I'll click on opt out.
This is a big moment. There.
So now it looks like the other way of adding permissions.
It sounds really complicated. I spent hours with YouTube support to explain this to me. They were very, very, very helpful, and I'm grateful for their work. But even they found it difficult to explain.
The easy way to check is to click on the pull-down menu.
If you go into Studio, then settings, then permissions, then manage permissions, and we'll click on manage permissions again. If you can see owner or primary owner as an option, you're good to go with adding another owner to the YouTube channel or transferring the channel to another account.
If you can't find owner like here, there's no owner option amongst all these other options, you have to opt out of permissions in YouTube studio.
So, to add another owner, go to YouTube Studio, then click on settings, then permissions, then manage permissions, then click on manage permissions, the blue button.
You'll see yourself there as primary owner. Click on the people plus icon, which is invite new users, and here we can type in the Google email address of the person we want to invite as owner.
And then we can choose a role:
owner, manager, or Communications manager.
Communications managers are the same as managers but they can't use the YouTube account. So, we'll choose owner.
An account must have one primary owner.
If you want to transfer the channel to a new primary owner, first you have to make them an owner this way and then wait 7 days before you can promote them to be primary owner.
I know this is complicated, and you're watching this in the future so things will change. But there's a link down in the description to the latest YouTube help article to guide you through this.
To transfer ownership of the YouTube channel to another Gmail account or another Google account. We have added an extra owner here already, and we've waited 7 days, and now we can promote that owner to become primary owner. So, if I click on the pull-down menu, you can see the option for primary owner. I'm going to select that.
I get this warning which is “the primary owner can add, invite, or delete other owners and managers”.
They can change account permissions, including mine, and they can delete this account completely. So, I'm going to click on transfer.
Scary moment, hold me!
There we go. So, we now have a new primary owner of this account.
I've now transferred this YouTube channel to another owner as primary owner.
Oh, I find it's really hard.
So, thank you for reaching this point of the video. I hope something here helps you to transfer the ownership of your YouTube channel. And if you've reached this point, thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the Subscribe button. It really helps me to run this channel, so thank you. And right here are all my other YouTube Creator tips and tricks.
Can you please help my dad get to 1 million subscribers?
Just click on his face. Thanks, bye. Can we have dinner now?

How do you turn off that annoying thing where Google reads out the result every time I Google search on my phone?
Hello, I’m Neil and this is bugging me.
[GOOGLE VOICE:] Sure, I love chatting. I also love animal facts.
If you want the whole Google Assistant thing turned off from your phone, so no speech or voice will come up, go into your Google app, and then click on the avatar on the top right-hand side.
And then we'll click on settings.
Then scroll down to the Google Assistant section and click on that.
Now scroll down to the section labelled 'General' - there's a cog icon there - and click on that.
And there's Google Assistant.
There's a toggle switch here that means we can turn it on or off by pressing that blue button.
And just to show how much Google cares about us, it gives us this warning.
If you want to go ahead, click 'Turn off.'
Bye-bye, Google Assistant!
[GOOGLE VOICE:] I love chatting with you.
Thanks for being awesome by hitting the thumbs up or subscribe button.
I really appreciate it, and it helps others to find this video. And right here is what YouTube knows that you will love watching next.

How to make a new Google Account on phone - FAST AND EASY!

How do you create a new Google Account using only your PHONE? I show you step-by-step how to make a Google account using just your phone and a web browser, for Android or iPhone or iPad.

[Music]
How do you create a brand new Google account using just your phone?
Maybe you want to have it for a new gmail address or YouTube channel...
I'm making a Google account that's just for my photos and videos for the Google photos app.
It's really easy, so let's make a Google account right here right now.
Step One is open the Chrome browser, if you have an Android phone, and then we'll open a new incognito tab.
Just click on the three dots on the top right hand corner and choose new incognito tab.
If you have an iPhone, just open Safari and choose "new private tab".
The reason we're doing this is to avoid being signed into Google already so that we can create a new clean account.
And now we can go to google.com
I'll just scroll down and accept the terms and conditions.
Next we'll click on this button on the top right hand corner "sign in".
And obviously we haven't created an account yet so at the bottom of the page here it says create account, I'll click on that.
This page now asks us if we want the Google account for personal use, for my child or for work or my business.
If you choose for my child, it will try to attach that to a parent Google account.
I'm going to avoid that.
I'm actually going to go for "work or my business".
I don't think there's that much difference between that and a personal account, it's just how Google chooses to collect data on the account.
Now we can enter our name, and now we can enter our birthday and gender.
Google Now offers us a couple of options for a Gmail name, or we can choose to create a new name for our Google account.
Now it's time to create a password for this new Google account.
Now Google wants to check that we're not a robot so they'll send a a verification code, and now we need to enter a recovery email address.
The next screen invites us to choose our settings for this account.
I'm going to choose express I think and now we can accept the terms and conditions and it looks like it's a success!
Your Google account is ready!
Now because we've set it up for business it has some additional questions: I'll hit "not now"
We are now good to go with our brand new Google account.

How do you move photos and videos to LOCKED FOLDER in Google Photos?

Hello how do you move photos or videos to a locked folder in Google photos?
Maybe you have pictures of sensitive documents or information?
Or photos of gifts you'd like to buy without anyone seeing them over your shoulder?
Or maybe there are pictures and videos you just don't want to be seen?
I completely understand: Google photos can hide any photo or video in a hidden place called locked folder which removes it from the photos grid - and can only be seen by using your mobile device screen lock.
Here's my Google photos app.
We're going to hide this picture of the pink Smiley.
First check that we're in the correct Google account by clicking this avatar on the top right hand corner.
Then we'll select the photo with a long press until the tick appears.
Now we can swipe along this menu on the bottom to select the option “move to locked folder”
The other way to hide this photo is to open up the photo itself and then click on the three dots in the top right hand corner.
We can now scroll across this menu to select “move to Locked folder”.
If you're doing this for the first time, Google photos explains the restrictions here.
We can now use the device security to open the locked folder.
If your backup is turned off, Google photos warns us of the dangers that we can lose these photos permanently.
It's now asking if we want to move the picture?
We'll click on “move”.
Congratulations! The pink Smiley photo is now safely hidden from the photos Grid in the locked folder.
Let me show you where to find the hidden photos and videos in the locked folder.
It's... it's quite simple once you know where it... where to look.
Along the bottom here can you see this button here: “Library”
We'll click on that and one of the buttons at the top is marked “utilities” so we'll click on that.
And down here, right at the bottom, this option here: “locked folder”.
So we'll click on this and it says “open locked folder”.
Now it will ask your phone or your mobile device to unlock the locked folder and there it is!
Those are all the photos that we have locked.
If this video is helping thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the Subscribe button, it really helps me to run this channel so thank you.
And right here are even more Google photos tips and tricks!
Can you please help my dad get to 1 million subscribers just click on his face thanks bye! Can we have dinner now?

How to make a free Google Account on a computer, PC, Apple Mac, macbook or windows laptop

How do you make a NEW Google account: maybe to use with Google Photos or Google Pay.
This is my step-by-step walkthrough for making a new Gmail address from a free Google Account using just a desktop browser.

Make a new Google Account today! For a new Google Photos account!

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
Hello, how do you make a brand new Google account?
Maybe you want to have it for a new Gmail address or YouTube channel.
I'm making a Google account that's just for my photos and videos for the Google Photos app.
It's really easy.
Step One is to open a browser.
I'm using Chrome and click on the three dots on the top right-hand corner.
Then choose 'new incognito window'.
If like me, you have a MacBook, open your Safari browser, click on 'file', then choose 'new private window'.
The reason we're doing this is to make sure we're not logged into Google already so that we can create a clean brand new Google account.
Then we'll go to google.com.
On the Google homepage, go to the button on the top right-hand corner marked 'sign in'.
We do not want to sign into our account.
We want to click on this link down here "create account".
Google asks what kind of account we want.
I prefer to choose “work or business” but you can choose “personal” if you prefer.
I think it just affects how Google collects data from the account.
We can enter our name, date of birth, gender, and then choose a username.
This will be our Gmail address for the account.
Now would be a lovely time to hit the thumbs up button.
It really helps me out so thank you.
Probably the hardest part of the process: we have to think of a password.
Either so difficult that you forget it!
Or so easy that you constantly worry you are going to get hacked!
Google wants to verify that we are "not a robot" by sending a text message with a code we can type in.
We can also set up a recovery email address if we want.
We choose these settings for the Google account.
I just choose 'express' and we can change these settings at any time.
And then we scroll through the terms and conditions, and accept them if we want to proceed.
Congratulations!
We now have a brand new Google account!
Let me know down in the comments if this works for you.
And thank you for your thumbs up or hitting the Subscribe button.
It really helps me out with these videos.
And right here are all my other Google tips and tricks!

How to STOP BACKUP in Google Photos

How do you STOP auto backup in Google Photos? If you have the app on your phone and you need to turn the Google Photos auto backup off, I'll show you step-by-step where to find back up. It's then easy to stop Google Photos backup and turn it off!

How to STOP BACKUP in Google Photos!

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!

Hello, I'm Neil. Welcome back to the Happy Hut.
How do you back up to Google Photos?
Or more importantly, how do you stop backup to Google Photos?
Maybe like me, you've hit your storage limit in Google Drive, which means we need to turn off Backup in Google Photos while we fix the problem.
It's really easy, and I'm going to stop backup using the Google Photo app on my phone here, so you can follow along step by step. I'll also share a link to another video that might help you fix your Google Drive storage problem for good.
First thing, obviously, is to make sure we're logged in to the right Google account for the app.
Just click on the Avatar, that's your picture in the top right-hand corner.
We can login to different Google accounts here and even choose a different Google account from the rest of the phone.
That can be useful for fixing your storage problem.
The next thing we can do here is to scroll down to photos settings.
By the way, do not click here on free up space.
This will delete things from your phone because they're backed up to Google, which is no help if your account is over the limit.
If we click on settings, we can see the first section at the top here is backup.
Let's click on that, and you can see these options down here for our Google photos.
But at the top is this blue toggle switch, which turns backup on and off.
And be aware, this is a little sneaky.
Every time you turn on backup, even if you're in storage saver quality, Google sets the backup quality back to original quality, which takes up more of your Limited storage allowance.
So you might want to just check that storage saver is turned back on every time you turn on backup.
If you are over your storage limit and your Google account has been shut down, I'm so sorry.
I've completely gone through this myself.
There's a link down in the description and on screen now where I walk you through step by step how to bring your storage back under 15GB and hopefully keep it under forever for free!

How to DOWNLOAD Google Photos to GALLERY on PHONE

How do you download Google Photos to Gallery on your phone?
I walk you through how to save photos and videos to your phone Gallery app step-by-step.
It means a transfer of Google Photos to phone. I also show how to download multiple photos all at once.
If you want to download all your pictures, I've made this video here: https://youtu.be/9lU-jfTKf5s

How to DOWNLOAD Google Photos to GALLERY on PHONE

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
Hello, I'm Neil. Welcome back to the Happy Hut.
How do you download photos and videos from Google Photos to Gallery on your phone?
Maybe you've hit your storage limit in Google Photos, or maybe you need to download them to share and edit using other apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram.
Let's do this in real time so you can follow along step by step.
I'll put my phone on the screen here, and this is my Google Photos.
Let's pick a photo in here taken long before I had this phone.
This is my nanny and Granddad.
She was blind since she was 20.
This picture is on Google Photos, but there isn't an actual copy on this phone.
I can tell because if I click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner, on the menu items here, it says download.
If this picture is on my phone, like this photo here, this button would say “delete from device” because it's on the phone.
Going back to the grandparents' picture, this photo doesn't appear in my phone's Gallery.
So let's download it now.
I'll click on the download button.
It says downloading, download complete, and we can now go into Gallery to see that it is now the latest picture.
But what if we want to download many pictures to our phone at once?
If I click on these pictures and select the cakes and the mug, there's no option down here on the bottom to download.
The only way I've found to do this is by using a Google app called Files by Google.
When we select the pictures we want to download by pressing on one photo long enough for a tick to appear, I can now tick on as many different pictures as I like.
Then I'm going to click on this share button down here in the bottom left-hand corner.
And along here, if I scroll across, there's a button in the corner marked “more”.
There are more apps here, but it's not the one that we want.
So I'll scroll across and click on more again.
These are all the other apps on my phone that can share, and right here is my Files by Google app.
So let's click on this.
It takes a few moments, and now those photos and videos are downloaded onto my phone.
When I go into the Gallery app, there we have all our downloaded pictures and videos in Gallery on my phone.
If this video is helping, thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the Subscribe button.
It really helps me keep this channel going, so thank you.
And right here are all my other Google Photos tips and tricks.
Can you please help my dad get to 1 million subscribers?
Just click on his face. Thanks, bye. Can we have dinner now?

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
Hello, I'm Neil, welcome back. How do you hide photos or videos in Google photos?
Maybe you have pictures with sensitive information on them?
Or you've gone snapping some gifts that you don't want people seeing over your shoulder when you're scrolling your phone?
Or maybe you're just fed up with some photos and videos, maybe they're about your past life and you don't really need to see them again.
There's an option in Google photos called locked folder.
You can hide sensitive photos and videos to a folder protected by your device screen lock in the Google photos app.
Pictures in locked folder won't appear in the photos grid, memories, search, or albums, and they won't be available to other apps on your device.
I've not done this before, so let's hide some photos and videos in Google photos.
I have my phone on screen now so you can follow along. This is the Google photos app and here are my photos. But let's say we want to hide this picture of the pink Smiley.
I think it's really simple.
All we do is hold the picture down with our finger and you can see that it becomes selected.
And then if I swipe along the bottom here, I can choose this option here: “Move to locked folder”.
The other way to do this is if you go into the photo itself and then click on the three dots at the top of the picture of the frame there and we'll scroll along to... there it is... “Move to locked folder”. So I'll click on that.
Now, I'm doing this for the first time, so it's showing me these prompts to set up the Locked Folder but we're just going to hit the button here.
Now it's using my device screen lock to verify that it's me.
You might need to unlock your phone on this page.
Locked folder backup is off.
It's giving me this warning that because I haven't got backup turned on in the Google photos app, you can lose these locked folder photos.
They'll only exist on my phone and they'll go if I factory reset my device, if I clear app data, if I lose my device or if I delete the Google photos app.
So we'll accept that warning.
And it wants me to confirm move to locked folder.
These photos and videos will be hidden, so I'll click move.
And now my phone wants to know if I want to allow the Google photos app to do this so I'll click on “allow”.
And it says moving to Locked Folder and that's it!
So if I come back you can see that the pink smiley face has gone.
Now say if I want to remove more than one photo at one time.
So I've got these charts from how well I'm doing on YouTube at the moment.
I've long pressed on one of those photos and that allows me to tick all the pictures that I want to move to the locked folder.
So I'll choose those ones, and then along the bottom here I can scroll over to “move to locked” and it again wants this confirmation message to be acknowledged so I'll hit “move”.
And again, my phone wants me to confirm this so I'll click “allow”.
Moving to Locked Folder!
In the background there you can see them moving. And here we go all of my Smiley and my YouTube Studio screengrabs have now gone.
Let me show you where to find the hidden photos and videos in the locked folder.
It's quite simple once you know where to look.
Along the bottom here can you see this button here?
“Library”
We'll click on that and one of the buttons at the top is marked “utilities” so we'll click on that.
And down here right at the bottom, this option here: “locked folder”, so we'll click on this and it says “open locked folder”.
Now it will ask your phone or your mobile device to unlock the locked folder and there it is!
Those are all the photos that we have locked.
Also, this is really important if you have Partner Sharing set up on Google photos:
If you move a photo to the locked folder on your account, it won't hide the photo on the shared account.
To hide photos and videos in Google photos using a desktop or laptop, go to the Google photos page which is photos.google.com
And then we can select the photos we want to hide.
So I'll just highlight these three pictures.
And then on the top right-hand corner we can click on the three dots and choose this option here: “move to locked folder”.
Now if we're doing this for the first time on a laptop it will give us this prompt to set up the locked folder, and all we need to do with this window is click on “done”.
And now it's asking me “do I want to move these to a locked folder?”
So I'll click on “move” and there, they've gone!
To find the photos you have moved to a locked folder, it's very simple.
There's a tab on the left-hand side of the main Google photos page, so I'll click on that and now it wants me to enter my Google password...
And here they are! The three amazing photos that I've hidden away in the locked folder.
If this video is helping thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the Subscribe button.
It really helps me to run this channel, so thank you.
And right here are even more Google photos tips and tricks!
Can you please help my dad get to 1 million subscribers.

Hello, how do you make a brand new Google account?
Maybe you want to have it for a new Gmail address or YouTube channel.
I'm making a Google account that's just for my photos and videos for the Google Photos app.
It's really easy.
I'll show you how to make a Google account on a desktop or laptop and also by using just your Android phone, iPhone, or iPad.
Let me show you how to create a Google account on a desktop first.
Step One is to open a browser.
I'm using Chrome and click on the three dots on the top right-hand corner.
Then choose 'new incognito window'.
If like me you have a MacBook open your Safari browser, click on 'file', then choose 'new private window'.
The reason we're doing this is to make sure we're not logged into Google already so that we can create a clean brand new Google account.
Then we'll go to google.com.
On the Google homepage, go to the button on the top right-hand corner marked 'sign in'.
We do not want to sign into our account.
We want to click on this link down here 'create account'.
Google asks what kind of account we want.
I prefer to choose “work or business” but you can choose “personal” if you prefer.
We can enter our name, date of birth, gender, and then choose a username.
This will be our Gmail address for the account.
Now would be a lovely time to hit the thumbs up button.
It really helps me out so thank you.
Probably the hardest part of the process, we have to think of a password.
Google wants to verify that we are not a robot.
We can also set up a recovery email address if we want.
We choose these settings for the Google account.
I just choose 'express' and then we scroll through the terms and conditions.
Congratulations! We now have a brand new Google account!
Let's do this now using only an Android phone, iPhone, or iPad.
You can follow along with me. I have my phone on screen here.
Step One is open the Chrome browser if you have an Android phone.
And then we'll open a new incognito tab.
Just click on the three dots on the top right-hand corner and choose 'new incognito tab'.
If you have an iPhone just open Safari and choose 'new private tab'.
The reason we're doing this is to avoid being signed into Google already so that we can create a new clean account.
And now we can go to google.com.
I'll just scroll down and accept the terms and conditions.
Next, we'll click on this button on the top right-hand corner 'sign in'.
And obviously, we haven't created an account yet so at the bottom of the page here it says 'create account'.
I'll click on that.
This page now asks us if we want the Google account for personal use, for my child, or for work or my business.
I'm actually going to go for work or my business.
Now we can enter our name, our birthday, and gender.
Google now offers us a couple of options for a Gmail name or we can choose to create a new name for our Google account.
Now it's time to create a password for this new Google account.
Now Google wants to check that we're not a robot so they'll send a verification code.
And now we need to enter a recovery email address.
The next screen invites us to choose our settings for this account.
I'm going to choose 'express', I think.
And now we can accept the terms and conditions and it looks like it's a success!
Your Google account is ready.
Now because we've set it up for business it has some additional questions.
I'll hit 'not now'.
We are now good to go with our brand new Google account.
Congratulations and let me know in the comments if this works for you.
Thank you for your thumbs up or hitting the Subscribe button.
It really helps me out. And right here are all my other Google tips and tricks.

How to fix Phone Storage FULL problem with Google Photos full drive

How can you recover Google storage on your phone?
Are you getting warning messages your Google Storage is full?
Here's how to clear your Google storage WITHOUT deleting your photos, videos and files
PLUS how to increase your Google Photos storage for free!

Buy PHONE BACKUP STORAGE CARD HERE!
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Buy ORANGE RUGGED LACIE HARD DRIVE HERE!

I first download and export all my photos and videos to a backup drive.
I fix the Google Account Storage is Full problem by using the "Clean up space" options to clear my Google Drive storage using my desktop, but if you use the links below you can clear Google Photos storage in phone. Then I use a "Recover Storage" option to reduce ALL the photos and videos in my Google Photos to Storage Saver Size. There is no option to see what photos & videos are in my Drive at Original Size, so the only way is to compress all the photos and videos to free up some storage.

Finally, I show a way to create a Google Account for storage JUST for Google photos... and set up my phone to upload and sync photos and videos with this new Google Account. We can then use Partner Sharing to share those Google Photos and Videos with my personal Google Account.

When your phone is FULL with GOOGLE PHOTOS: what to do next!

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!

You know this day has been coming, and like me, you've put it off and put it off. Your Google Photos is full, nothing's being backed up, and you're getting these warning messages. They're going to stop Gmail, or they've already blocked all your Google products and Google Drive. You don't want to delete anything because all your precious family photos and videos are on here. But now this phone is getting filled up. Where do you even start?
This is a long video where I walk you through step by step how to fix your phone storage with Google Photos. This is my Unstoppable amazing wife's phone. But as a dad, the hospital didn't tell me this when you have a child, that suddenly I become the IT manager for the family. I'm no good at IT, but I have done this a few times now. It's a Samsung Android phone, but some of these tips are for all phones, and the time code for every step is down in the description if you want to jump forward or replay any clips.
The first step is to back up our phone.
We need to save a copy of all the photos and videos on here in case something goes wrong with this. We'll at least have them stored somewhere else.
You can save them to a laptop, a desktop PC, or a memory card or a big, rugged, colourful hard drive like this one. I'll put the links to these down in the description.
But I'm backing up my wife's photos and pictures to here via my PC. So this is my PC desktop. I've plugged the phone into the PC with a USB cable, and you can see internal storage is maxed out, as well as the Google Photos. The actual storage on the phone is maxed out. But we're going to try and find all the photos. So I'm going to look in internal storage, then DCIM, and then I'll look in Camera to see if there's anything there. There's nothing there, which is great because it means that all the photos have actually been stored on the SD card. So if I go back to the SD card folder, I'll go into DCIM, and there's Camera. Here are all the photos.
Now, I've tried doing this on my MacBook, but it just doesn’t work very well for me.
There's an actual tool called Android File Transfer. I just can't get mine to work at the moment. So I'm using a PC. You can also get storage cards to plug directly into the phone to back them up directly to a card. There's a link down in the description to one of those.
This folder is still loading up because you can see in the corner here there are 1,300 items so far and counting.
1400 now, it’s still going up.
I'm going to click on View, and I'm going to choose Details. It just makes it easier because it presents everything as a list. And this is everything.
At the top here, there are some files called “.trashed”
I'm going to ignore those. In fact, I'm going to delete those to try and clear some space on the phone. So I highlight them and I'll click Delete, and I'll delete those.
Those files have now gone, so I'm going to select everything in this folder.
Now bear in mind this isn't actually everything because, as well as the camera photos and videos, there are screen captures and phone recordings. You might want to back those up as well. I'm just looking out for the photos and videos.
I'm scrolling all the way to the bottom, and this is the last one here.
That is 1,647 items.
I'm now going to drag them into this folder that I've made for the backup file. So the PC is now copying all the files from the phone to my drive in my folder that I've got here on my PC.
It says it will take an hour and 10 minutes, but I know I have a safe version now of everything on the phone.
The next step is to shrink the size of files in Google Photos.
To get our Google account working again, we need to bring the photos and videos storage to under 15 GB.
I'm doing this without deleting any files or videos yet and without signing up to the Google Drive storage subscription because we do not know how much Google will charge for OneDrive in the future.
And I've seen it in the comments from you on my videos that we just fill up the storage allowance they give us, and then we face exactly the same storage problem again!
So let's now follow these steps from my other video.
So the first thing we're going to do is to change the Google photos upload size from original quality to “storage saver” quality.
You might have done this already but just let's make sure that that setting is set to storage saver because sometimes when the Google photos app updates it switches it back to “Original”.
So we're going to click on the avatar on the top right hand corner of your Google photos.
Don't click on “free up device storage” because that is just going to remove photos from your phone.
We don't want to do that. We don't need to do that.
What we are going to do though is go down to photos settings.
We click on that and then we'll click on backup and sync, which is the first menu item here.
If we scroll down we can see “upload size” and there are two ways that you can backup photos to Google photos: that is either “original size” which is the full fat big size of your photos and video...
Or this option here: “storage saver”.
Tip number two is that we're going to turn off Google photos backup.
And to do that we're going to click on the Avatar in the top right hand corner again.
We're going to scroll down to “photos settings” and then we're going to click on backup and sync.
There’s a little toggle switch here: we're going to turn that off and the reason we're doing this is that once we've cleared some space from Google photos we don't want to be filling up Google photos with the pictures that are in our phone again.
And later on I'm going to show you how you can set up a Google account just for your photos and videos.
The third tip is to remove any obviously unwanted Google photos and videos.
Click on the Avatar in the top right hand corner, and down underneath the “account storage full" you can see this button with three dots.
I'll just click on it and that takes us to the “out of storage” window.
There's a section down here called "review and delete” and this is where it offers to show you screenshots, blurry photos, large photos and videos, and other apps.
Now I don't particularly want to delete these, but there might be some big ones here that you can delete.
You can see from the sizes here aren't huge and I don't think they'll bring me back underneath the storage limit, which brings us to tip number four, and this... this is the killer tip.
This is how you and me are going to beat Google, and it's to reduce the size of all the photo and video files in Google photos just in one go.
Now you can't do this on the Google photos app, which I think is pretty disgusting, so what we need to do is to open a browser on your phone.
If you have an Android phone that's probably Chrome, and if you have an iPhone or an iPad that's Safari, and we'll type in photos.google.com
Next on the top left hand side, you see the three lines there?
We click on that to open the menu just to make sure that we are logged into the correct Google account.
You can click on the Avatar face there if you want to change the account.
Next we'll scroll down, and down here where it says storage we're going to click on the word “storage" and this is like manage storage on the app...
But if you scroll down, the app doesn't have this option: “recover storage”.
And by the way if any of these tips are helping, please say hi in the comments or hit the thumbs up button. It really helps other people to find this video so thank you.
On the “recover storage” option here, we're going to click on “learn more" and it opens up this scary warning.
Now we don't know which photos and videos in Google photos are at the big original size or the smaller storage saver size. By clicking on this option, it will reduce all of the photos and video file sizes down to the storage saver size, which will free up loads of space.
I'm going to click this warning disclaimer here: I understand that it cannot be undone...
and then I'm going to hit the blue "compress existing photos and videos”
Now it looks like nothing has happened... look our storage is still at 16.3GB
If I scroll back down it says compressing.
It does take a couple of hours, let's see how this fixes my Google storage!
It's now 8:30... 7 hours later. Let's open Google photos app.
We were on 16 gigabytes. If I click on my avatar, whoa! Look at that!
Account storage 7.8 gigabytes!
We did it! Woah, we did it! So for me this tip reclaimed about eight gigabytes of storage, but more importantly it's got my whole Google account working again!
I followed those steps and now I have a storage total of 14 GB, AND more importantly, I've got my wife's Google account working again.
That's a win, surely!
It's got to be something that counteracts the tiny downsides of living with me!
Our next step is to create a Google account that's just for the new photos and videos.
And we'll send set this up in a way that doesn't max out our storage ever again.
I know it's a bold claim, but it works if we use something called “partner sharing”.
Take a look at this.
At the moment, if you share your photos and videos with another account using partner sharing, so you've got Google account number one and you create Google account number two... you can share your photos and videos from this account with this account - so that the photos and videos from this account can also be seen and searched and saved in this account.
Those photos and videos do not take up any storage space in that shared account,
Which means you can delete them off the original account where they were taken, still have them saved in the shared account, and those saved photos and videos do not take up any of your free 15GB of Google storage allowance.
So let me show you how to set up partner sharing step by step.
I'm going to do this in real-time, and you can try it out for yourself and follow along.
I'm going to do it on this phone.
You can do it on the desktop, I'm going to try this on a phone.
If I go into the Google Photos app, I have created this brand new Google account just for my photos and videos.
It's really easy, so let's make a Google account right here, right now, step by step.
You can follow along with me.
I have my phone on screen here.
Step One is open the Chrome browser if you have an Android phone, and then we'll open a new incognito tab.
Just click on the three dots on the top right-hand corner and choose “new incognito tab”.
If you have an iPhone, just open Safari and choose “new private tab”.
The reason we're doing this is to avoid being signed into Google already so that we can create a new clean account, and now we can go to google.com.
I'll just scroll down and accept the terms and conditions.
Next, we'll click on this button on the top right-hand corner, "Sign in," and obviously, we haven't created an account yet, so at the bottom of the page here, it says "Create account."
I'll click on that.
This page now asks us if we want the Google account for personal use, for my child, or for work or my business.
I'm actually going to go for "work or my business."
Now we can enter our name, and now we can enter our birthday and gender.
Google now offers us a couple of options for a Gmail name, or we can choose to create a new name for our Google account.
And now we can accept the terms and conditions, and it looks like it's a success, "Your Google account is ready."
Now I've signed my Google Photos app on my phone into that new account, and to check that you've done that, you just click on the top right-hand corner.
At the bottom of the app, at the bottom of the screen, there's a tab here called "Sharing," and if I click on that, here is a prompt to share your photos.
It's right here where it says "Share with partner."
If partner sharing isn't here, try going into a desktop on a computer and go to photos.google.com. Click on settings, which is the cog at the top here, and partner sharing should be on the list there. If it isn't, you might need to verify your account first.
Back to the Google Photos phone app, I'll click on "Share with partner."
Get my glasses on.
It gives you some options here, so it explains that setting up automatic sharing means that you can share your memories. So we can choose the starting date. I'm going to go with "all time."
I want all photos to be shared with the other account, and you can choose which photos to share. I'm going to share all photos.
Then I guess we'll click on "Select partner," and here we can type in the email address that we want to share the account to, and now we'll click "Confirm."
So it's told me that it's shared this request, this invitation with the other account.
Now we can go to that other account to accept the invitation.
So I'll click on the avatar in the top right-hand corner, and I'll log in the Google Photos app to my other Google account.
And here it is right now on screen, and I've got a notification saying, "Neil wants to share with you." So it's instantly told me that the sharing request has been made.
If it's not showing, make sure you've clicked on the sharing tab at the bottom of the screen here.
I can now click on 'View Invitation'. “Neil wants to start partner sharing with you.”
You'll be able to view photos shared by Neil. So hit 'Accept'.
And now, it offers to share back to the other account.
The questions look exactly the same as before. Choose starting date. We'll have all time. And choose photos to share. Let's hit 'All Photos'.
And then, I'll click 'Confirm'.
Now, it's given us an extra option, and this is the important bit to make this work, to make this unlimited. "Auto-save pictures from Neil.”
So it's offering to show those photos and videos from the other account and save them in this account. And it won't take up any of my storage.
So I'm going to hit 'Get Started', turn on auto-save so you never miss a photo from myself.
This is the crucial bit here.
Can you see where it says “the photos that you save won't count towards your storage as long as your partner continues to share them with you”. So what I will do, I will choose 'Save All Photos'.
And then I'll hit 'Confirm', “saving automatically all photos”.
But all of those photos are now going to be saved in my original Google account.
I've now logged into the other account, the new Google account that I created just to take photos and videos.
And you can see here that partner sharing seems to be working.
But if I click on “Neil's photos partner sharing”, I've got the same message here to auto-save. So I'm probably going to do this in both directions just for safety.
It takes up no storage, so I might as well do this. “Auto save pictures from Neil”.
I'm going to click 'Get Started', turn on auto-save. So I'm going to choose 'Save All Photos', confirm, and that is now saving all my photos from the other account to this account. It doesn't take up any of my storage.
Hello, me again. I followed those steps, so now I have a new Google account just for photos.
What I need to do now is delete from my phone all the photos that have been backed up to Google, because I don't want those old pictures filling up my storage allowance again on my new empty Google account. Remember, I've got them backed up to a drive and backed up on Google photos.
It takes way too long to do this one by one in the gallery. So, I'm plugging the phone into my computer again and just highlighting the pictures to delete, and then hitting delete on all those old photos and videos. They are now removed from my phone.
While you're doing this, why not hit the thumbs up on this video to let me know this might be helping? I really appreciate it.
This deleting will also free up space in the phone. Everyone just seems to fill up their phones until they crash!
Well, I know I do, and I think some people just buy another phone and leave them on there.
Doing this will give the phone a bit more life and protect your photos and videos.
Step five is to set the phone to backup from the Google Photos app to our new Google account that we created just for our photos.
It's really easy.
Go into your Google Photos app on your phone, click on your avatar on the top right-hand corner, scroll down to photos settings, click on that, then click on backup, then click on the Gmail address and change it to your new Google Photos account.
Scroll down, make sure the backup quality is storage saver because I keep a copy of the original files, and this will stop it from filling up again too quickly.
The beauty of this system is, at the moment, the brand new photos Google account will share all the photos and videos to my original old personal account.
And when I delete them from the photos account, they stay saved in the personal account. They're even saved at original quality.
I've been doing this for about a year now, and it's just so much easier having a Google account that's just for my photos and videos so they don't fill up my personal account.
Thank you for hitting the thumbs up button.
I've got other videos that might help if you click the subscribe button, and if you do either of those, it really helps me out. So, thank you.
And right here are all my Google Photos storage videos to keep you under that limit.

How do you create a brand new Google account using just your phone?
Maybe you want to have it for a new Gmail address or YouTube channel. I'm making a Google account that's just for my photos and videos for the Google Photos app.
It's really easy, so let's make a Google account right here, right now, step by step.
You can follow along with me.
I have my phone on screen here.
Step One is open the Chrome browser if you have an Android phone, and then we'll open a new incognito tab.
Just click on the three dots on the top right-hand corner and choose new incognito tab.
If you have an iPhone, just open Safari and choose a new private tab.
If you choose "for my child," it will try to attach that to a parent Google account.
I'm going to avoid that. I'm actually going to go for "work or my business."
I don't think there's that much difference between that and a personal account; it's just how Google chooses to collect data on the account.
Now we can enter our name, and now we can enter our birthday and gender.
Google now offers us a couple of options for a Gmail name, or we can choose to create a new name for our Google account.
Now it's time to create a password for this new Google account.
Now Google wants to check that we're not a robot, so they'll send a verification code, and now we need to enter a recovery email address.
The next screen invites us to choose our settings for this account.
I'm going to choose "express," I think, and now we can accept the terms and conditions, and it looks like it's a success, "Your Google account is ready."
Now, because we've set it up for business, it has some additional questions.
I'll hit "not now."
We are now good to go with our brand new Google account!
Congratulations, and let me know in the comments if this works for you. Thank you for your thumbs up or hitting the Subscribe button; it really helps me out.
