Hello, I'm Neil, and the new thing I'm trying to make your family happy is:
how do you stop WhatsApp photos going into gallery on your mobile phone?
Or maybe your WhatsApp photos and images are not showing in gallery, and you want them to be saved in gallery.
This is a big issue in my family where your phone can run out of storage because WhatsApp pictures, images, and videos are taking up space.
Or maybe you want your WhatsApp photos to be backed up to your phone.
Here's my phone on screen, so you can follow along.
We can do this two ways.
To turn off chats saving photos and images to gallery, go to the chat that you don't want to be saving images to Gallery.
Click on the name of the chat here to bring up this menu.
Scroll down to Media visibility and click on here.
Now we can choose yes or no.
The default here means that we can turn WhatsApp saving photos and videos on and off for the whole app, not just for one chat.
Here's how to turn off WhatsApp saving photos to gallery.
Go to the WhatsApp homepage, press three dots on the top right-hand corner,
click on settings,
scroll down,
and click on chats.
Then scroll down to Media visibility.
You can turn the photos being saved on and off with this toggle switch.
