How do you record the screen on an Android phone? Sometimes we need to show someone exactly what's happening on our phone and screen record video clips for our Tik Tok, Instagram reels, or YouTube videos. I'm doing this on my Samsung Galaxy S24 with a feature that's built into this device. Or if you can't find this on your Android phone, there's a screen recorder app linked in the description below. The easiest way to start is through your quick settings panel. Swipe down from the very top right hand corner of your screen. Or if it doesn't look like this, try swiping down from the middle once, then a second time to fully expand the quick settings panel. Look for the icon that says screen recorder. Yours might be on a second page of icons, so swipe left if it looks different on your phone. Here's the screen recorder icon. If you can't see it, click on the pen icon at the top, then edit to reveal all the possible buttons and look for screen recorder there. When I tap on the screen recorder icon, it brings up this menu. We can choose what sound it will capture while recording the screen. either no sound, media, which is the sound the phone is playing, like music or game sounds, or media and mic to record your phone's microphone at the same time. There's also an option to show taps and touches. I'll turn this on to show you what it does, but basically it highlights where your finger comes into contact with the screen while it's recording. I'll press start recording and we see this 3-second countdown to get ready and recording begins. In the top right hand corner, we have this small floating toolbar. This is our control center and this doesn't appear in the screen recording. You can long press on this control center bar to drag it around the screen to have any position you like. There's a pause button here so we can pause the recording without ending it. The pen icon lets us draw or highlights things on the screen while recording. And if I tap on the color, we can change the color and the thickness of the pen. Now we can write or draw whatever we like on the screen. And there's an undo button, too, to clear things up. The person icon here lets me activate my front-facing camera. Now I can record my beautiful face in this small circle and I can drag the circle to wherever I want on the screen. This is perfect for gaming streams or quick reaction videos. If I want to minimize the control panel, click on this small triangle here. And now it just shows the timing of the recording. Swipe left on this to open up the panel again. When we're done, simply tap the stop button, which looks like a square. I'll show you where this recording goes, but first, let me show you the settings you can change. Go into your phone's settings and then advanced features, then screenshots and screen recordings. Scroll down to the recordings section and we can set the default for the audio. Choose the video quality. Set the size of the camera circle and choose which folder to save the screen recordings. This is the folder to go to if you want to transfer the videos to a computer. To find your screen recordings, just open up your gallery app. The video is right there in your main album and it's also in the album called screen recordings. From here, we can edit it, share it, or delete the file. The recordings also appear in Google Photos, which also has an album for screenshots and recordings. Want to hide an Instagram post or video without deleting it forever? Or set an Instagram post, picture or reel to private? Maybe it's an old embarrassing picture, or a photo you're not sure you want on your profile anymore. While there's no private post button or setting, there's a simple, free workaround: the Archive feature. 

I'll show you how to quickly archive a post so it disappears from your public profile but stays safe in a private folder that only you can see. Plus, I'll show you how to unhide a post if you ever change your mind.

Do you want to hide a post on your Instagram account without deleting it forever? Maybe it's an old embarrassing picture or a photo you're not quite sure you should be posting. You've probably looked for a private post button, but we won't find one. At the moment, Instagram doesn't have a way to make a single post private. When your account is public, all of your posts are public. But there is a simple and effective workaround. It's called the archive feature. And this could be a huge help. Archiving a post removes it from your profile so your followers and the public can't see it. But it doesn't delete it. It's like putting it in a secure private folder that only you can access. We can do this in just a few clicks. Plus, I'll also show you how to get it back if you change your mind. I've got my phone on screen now. Step one, go to your Instagram profile. Scroll down and find the post that you want to hide. 

Click on the post to open it. Then, look for these three dots in the top right hand corner. We'll tap on the three dots and a menu pops up. You'll see an option that says archive. Click on that. The post is immediately removed from your profile grid and it's no longer visible to anyone but you. It's that simple. But where did it go? To find your archive posts, go back to your profile page. Look in the top right hand corner for the hamburger menu with the three horizontal lines. 

Click on that and this menu slides out. Select archive. Make sure you're in the posts archive section and you'll see all the posts you've ever archived. If you ever change your mind and want to unhide a post, it's just as easy. From your posts archive, find the post that you want to bring back. Click on it to open it. Look for the three dots again in the top right hand corner. We'll click there. Now we can see this new option, show on profile. Click on that and the post will reappear on your profile in its original chronological spot with all its likes and comments back on there. It's a great way to keep your feed clean and up to date without ever having to permanently delete anything. Hello. If you go into Instagram, you've probably noticed this feature with the two swirly arrows. This is the official Instagram repost button. No more screenshots, no third party apps, no sharing to your story and have it disappear in a day because Instagram has launched this built-in way to repost pictures and videos, photos or reals directly to your feed. This feature is a gamechanger for creators like us and I'm going to walk you through exactly how to use it step by step so you can start sharing your favorite reels and posts. Let me know in the comments if this is a good feature for you and let's take the first step which is to find the public reel or post that you want to share. This feature only works on public accounts. Underneath the post that you like, you will see the familiar icons. The like button, comments button, and share button, which has a paper airplane icon. Next to the share button, there's this new button. It looks like a square with two arrows circling around it. It's a bit like the retweet button on Twitter. That's the Instagram repost button. So, let's go ahead and tap on it. Once we've hit the repost button, this small thoughts bubble pops up over the post. This is where we can add a short note or comment, which is similar to quoting a tweet. We can type up to 60 characters sharing our thoughts on the thing we're reposting. This is also where we can delete the repost if we change our mind. We could just click on the delete here. When we're happy with the notes, just hit save. If we want to delete this repost from our feed, all we do is click on the repost arrows where that check mark is. And if I press on that, the tick is removed. So the repost and my comment is deleted from my feed. If you want to repost an Instagram video reel, it's very similar. Just look for the swirly arrows at the bottom of the icons on the right hand side here. Bear in mind, you can only repost things by the original creator. You can't repost a repost. But what if you want to find all the things you've reposted? Just go to your profile page. You'll notice there's a new tab on your profile alongside your regular posts, reels, and tagged photos. Tap on this tab and you'll see a dedicated collection of every single post you've reposted. From here, you can also manage your reposts, including the option to remove them if you change your mind. Just go in and untick the icon there. This is good. To bulk delete reposts, go back into your profile. Click on the three lines in the top right hand corner. Scroll down to your activity. On this list, click on reposts. And here you can long press on all the reposts you want to delete. Congratulations, your post is successfully reposted to your feed, which means your followers will now see it with the original creator's username clearly credited. The original creator is also notified when you repost their content, which is a great way to show them some love. This is a crucial step for creators and anyone concerned about their content. What about controlling who can repost your photos and videos? I'll show you. Just go into your profile, tap on the three lines in the top right hand corner to open the menu, which is settings and activity. Scroll down to the sharing and reuse option. And here we can control how we allow people to share our content. These are all the ways viewers can share your Instagram stuff. And these buttons toggle on and off just by pressing them. So, it's really easy to stop reposts on posts and reels or enable that sharing again all by just pressing on this button.
