and the... the blade has broken clean off 

hello welcome back to the happy hut 

I’m Neil thanks for clicking on this video 

I’m gonna fix replace or change the blades on my Flymo mower 

it is a Flymo Mow n Vac and these blades look a bit weird so I thought I’d make a video about how to change them 

it's actually really easy and these blades are the official ones 

you can get unofficial ones but these official ones - that is called fly014 

and these plastic blades work for the Hover Vac the Mow N Vac which is what I’ve got 

a Micro Lite, Minimo 

I always get loads of views for me doing garden work 

its like one of my biggest forms of revenue on youtube at the moment and I’m really not the garden tools guy 

so this is what the undercarriage looks like 

obviously it's not... it's not plugged in 

so here we go underneath on the Flymo MowNVac 

you can see the thing that... that spins around...

this is the thing that spins around 

this is the box of bits - the Flymo plastic blades they come in boxes of six which is one I’ve got 

by the way I’ll put a link in the description below for where you can get these on amazon 

you see these kind of lugs... it's held in place by this kind of ear and all you do is just lift it up

and then it... it comes out 

I think you can use them either way round and where I’ve been using them one way because it's really blunt on this side... 

all I do is just put it in the other way around and then that side will be going around so you'll get almost like double use out of each blade 

so this is the hole that we want to fill and you just lift this ear up to push the... the new blade in 

so I’ve got the new blades here you can use another blade to... to hold the ear open but I’ve only got one hand so I’m gonna just pull it with brute force so it just pushes in like that 

all you do is lift up the ear - the flap - whatever you want to call it and you push it in just so that that lug goes into the hole so that the blade actually is meant to free... free wobble around 

and it means that when you hit a stone or worse the blade just flies off instead of damaging your... your mower or the thing that it's hit 

I’m going to do some mowing now with the Flymo Mow N Vac 

cue the mowing music!

okay so I don't know if you heard that but that is what it sounds like when the blade flies off... flies off 

I think it hit a stick 

what I’m gonna do is I’ll turn off the power and I’ll show you how it works 

what you'll see underneath its hit a log - a big piece of wood - and the... the blade has broken clean off so all you need to do is find the blade 

if you've got long grass it's a bit tricky but I can see it's right here and we can just plug it in 

this is the beauty of the system and again I’m doing it with one hand 

a bit tricky 

all we do is lift up this flap get it to click into place make sure it's spinning freely and away you go
