hello I’m neil welcome back to the channel 

this is the dad delivers vlog where I try something new every day and six weeks ago today the thing that I tried new was to buy cryptocurrency for the very first time 

and that launched this experiment I’m hoping to run through the year 

I’m six weeks on I nearly stopped but I thought it's Sunday evening... it's a beautiful evening here in June, here in the UK

I’m gonna... I’m gonna keep going with this and the plan is to buy some cryptocurrency every week just to see what would happen 

and I’m doing it using this... 

this is my regular PayPal account where you can buy cryptocurrency and I’ll explain that as I go along 

but it's... it's scary and it's quite a financial commitment which I can't really afford but the money is still there at the moment and I know that who knows what could happen to this 

I could lose everything but it could pay off as well and being a greedy herbert like perhaps you might be I thought well I might make some money as well 

but it's tricky while cryptocurrency looks like this 

it looks like it's tanking and just going down 

I’m thinking well buying while it's going down might be a good thing 

so that's what we're testing 

and it's... it's also difficult to bring you up to speed every week with how that's doing because I’m basically saying the same thing each week which is... 

It’s worth less than what I bought in the first place 

this is what is happening right now 

this is just my regular PayPal app on my normal PayPal account 

you can see this giant crypto button here  

I think we... we must think this is because PayPal are quite keen for us to be trying out crypto on its service 

this is week number six and my rule is this 

I am spending 100 pounds every week 

this is what I’ve spent so far just on Bitcoin 

and after last week I have spent 510 pounds and five pence on cryptocurrency 

let's see what it's worth now 

up on screen now that 510 pounds and five pence is now worth £446.57 

so I am down by 65 pounds 

it's down at the moment but I’m gonna continue 

I’m gonna hit this crypto button now and you have to forgive me because the PayPal app blanks out certain screens from the screen recording so if the resolution starts to look a bit weird it's because I’ve put in some other footage 

so my £510 now looks like this £445 

and I’ve bought two currencies last week 

I bought Ethereum for the very first time 

I bought 100 pounds of Ethereum which is now worth £83.92 so the ethereum has really taken a hit in the last seven days 

wow that has gone down by just under 20 pounds that means it's dropped by 20% in the last week 

should we go into ethereum 

let's see what's happened there 

ethereum is down by what about 15% in the last week 

it's really dropped look at that 

Let's go back to Bitcoin 

my 408 pounds and 4 pence of Bitcoin as you can see is now worth 360 pounds 84 

so that has lost about 48 pounds as well 

if I go into Bitcoin... 

Bitcoin is down on the week by 5% 

so this is good because this means we go back to the original rule 

the rule that I play every week is that if Bitcoin goes down then I’ll buy some more Bitcoin 

if Bitcoin goes up in the week then I will try some other cryptocurrency 

that's why I bought ethereum last week 

it's down which can mean only one thing... it's time to buy some more Bitcoin!

so let's... let's hit the buy button and then I will type in 100 pounds and one pence because the one pence puts me over the limit for the fees 

the fees for PayPal drop slightly if I go one penny over 100 pounds 

and then I’ll click buy Bitcoin 

it's telling me I’m going to buy 0.00437 Bitcoin with a transaction fee of 2 pounds so I’ll pay 102 pounds and one pence 

let's click agree and buy there you go you purchased 0.0043758 Bitcoin 

so my Bitcoin is now worth £459 after I’ve spent overall £510 and five pence 

if I move back to the crypto screen it's got what everything's worth now 

so I’ve spent 612 pounds and six pence and that's 612 pounds in cryptocurrency is worth 543 pounds 46 pence 

how long can I keep this going for 

what cryptocurrency would you choose 

because as we know the best financial advice comes from youtube comments 

but what would you do if you were in my situation 

would you keep going with this

hello I’m Neil welcome back to the channel

excuse me 

we're on week five: every week I buy 100 pounds worth of cryptocurrency and then see what happens over time and every week I think long and hard about 

wussing out - even though it's raining - it's actually a thunderstorm at the moment 

I thought I’m gonna go through with it

this is my PayPal dashboard and I have been buying cryptocurrency using the PayPal account and... and this thing on my face is... it's a London taxi tattoo because it's the queen's jubilee weekend. 

obviously

let me recap where we're at 

so I have spent over four weeks: 408 pounds and four pence let's see how much that is worth in Bitcoin

the Bitcoin I’ve bought each week is now worth this figure here

381 pounds and five pence 

so I’m down by about nearly 30 pounds but I’ve got good hope for this 

my plan is if Bitcoin goes down in the week, then I buy Bitcoin and if it goes up in the last week then I will buy a different cryptocurrency

and it's been Bitcoin every week over the last four weeks

here is what Bitcoin has done in the last month 

you know red doesn't mean good apparently

let's see if Bitcoin has gone up in the last week 

it's gone green!

oh my goodness the value of Bitcoin has gone up by 4.17% in the last week

now this is... this is the first time this has happened in five weeks

it looks like it's had a little rally so it's a bit of a shame because I did want to keep buying on the way down but I’m going to play the rule 

Bitcoin has gone up so let's buy something else

now I’m going to buy something easy and vanilla because I’m scared and I could lose all of my money 

so I’m going to choose one of the three other currencies that PayPal offers in its crypto tab 

and it only offers these four currencies:

Bitcoin, Ethereum, litecoin and Bitcoin cash 

it's not going to be Bitcoin cash because that just sounds like a stupid made up cryptocurrency 

that's not Bitcoin but sounds a bit like it

also look at its logo 

it's just green with the “B” tilted to a slightly different angle 

I’m gonna go for Ethereum

I know nothing about this but I just thought I’m going to buy Bitcoin on the way down and buy other stuff on the way up so let's look at what Ethereum has done in the last week

it too has gone up it's almost as if it seems to do exactly what Bitcoin does

I’m sure that's not the case but every week when I sort of take a peek at it that's what seems to happen 

wow the rain seems to have ended this could be a good sign 

by the way where's my manners my name's Neil this is the Dad delivers vlog where I try something new every day

and I tried signing up to Binance and Coinbase or Etoro and each platform - firstly I’ve never heard of these companies and yet I have to hand over all my personal details, date of birth and personal documents 

Binance didn't even get back to me when I couldn't even get myself verified with them so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this crypto tab on my PayPal - regular PayPal account 

I’ve got no stake in that at the moment other than my dwindling Bitcoin reserves so today I guess I’m trying something new and that is:

I’m going to buy some Ethereum 

there's the graphic and the sound effect and I do that it's... it's a very complicated process but I... all I do is go down to this big buy button down here 

and then I type in what I want to buy

now it would be a hundred pounds on the nose but PayPal's fees drop one penny over 100 pounds:

the fee drops from 2.3 percent down to 2% so I saved 29 pence

Over 5 weeks that's very nearly 1 pound 50 so you know you're in good hands over here!

so I’m going to make this 100 pounds and - excuse me - one pence

I... I ate a lot at our jubilee party 

we had a street party I had a lot of bacon rashers

then I click on the big blue next button 

and now it's presenting me with a review and buy dialogue 

you can see my ETH - ETH - Ethereum

it's fluctuating as I’m dithering and talking with you

the transaction fee is two pounds so I’m going to pay 102 pounds and one pence

let's hit agree and buy 

I’ve done it

you purchased 0.0682 Ethereum and already my 100 pounds worth of Ethereum is worth 99 pounds and 45 pence 

I’ve... I’ve lost 50p just in the time it took to hit that button 

so what happens now

if I click on the crypto tab I’ve got two different cryptocurrencies

there are 18000 cryptocurrencies 

maybe somehow I’ll work my way through them

if you've got any... any tips or anything you would buy if it weren't Bitcoin or Ethereum

I have a little uh summary here so I have spent 510 pounds and five pence and that 510 pounds worth of cryptocurrency is currently worth 480 pounds and 79 pence 

I have no idea if I’m going to see this through

I’m planning to do this every week for a year and I can barely afford that

I thought if I don't lose everything then at least I... I will still have some money and I’ll have the experience and your company to see me through this

hello I’m Neil - this is the dad delivers vlog it's uh where I get to try something new each and every day and today I’m trying this 

this is a bit of a... I want to sit down but look I look a bit stupid behind... behind the Flymo

I know I’m going to commit to it 

today I’m trying this: I’m trying to remove the blade from a Flymo hover mower and this particular mower is no... I’m gonna stand up 

this is the Flymo simpliglide 330 and it's lovely 

I’ve got a link in the description to... to the mower and to all my other videos about this but I’ve never ever taken a blade off a mower or a Flymo before 

so I’m going to try it now on camera step by step so you can follow along 

you're probably aware of this but you need... you need a tool that came with the mower 

bizarrely we've managed to keep hold of ours - these always get lost and if yours is missing I’ve put a link in the description to one you can buy on amazon 

and I’m also trying this - there are spacers that come with the Flymo simplyglide 330 

which means that the... the blade is lower and that means your grass is shorter and I really like the idea of shorter grass and doing less mowing 

I guess we should just dive in 

it's got a strange hexagon shape on the bottom of this tool and that fits the bolt here exactly 

I’m sure you could probably do this with a... with a spanner but what I’ve quickly worked out is that you've got to hold the... the spinny thing here by the round thing 

not obviously by the blade because that would be quite painful I think and then you'll turn it anti-clockwise

like this

and the bolt is quite long so what I’ll probably do is take the tool off and then just turn it by hand

you might need to do this if you are actually replacing a Flymo blade 

I’ll put a link to a brand new blade there 

ours isn't looking too good mainly because I keep running it over all kinds of stones in the garden and Casper's holes which are a challenge for me and the mower 

but I’m going to stick with this blade and you can see it's just this could come off really easily 

if you look even more closely there are some holes around the edge of where the bolt goes 

which is where the spacers come in 

I’ve got two sizes that came with this mower 

there's like a double width spacer and a slightly smaller spacer 

I’m going to... I want to go for the really short grass 

But I’m going to go for the wuss version just to... just to make sure it doesn't hit any stones or paving stones 

what's great with the spacer is that it's got these... these dots on 

it's got these two studs and the two studs should fit in the two large holes there 

and with my one there's there is a lot of debris in the... in the holes but if you just push it in to where you think the holes are it... it fits snug and it's actually flush with this uh spinning motor thing 

I’m going to put the blade back on and of course there's a right way and a wrong way to put the blade 

who said it had to be easy 

thankfully Flymo have put on one side “this side to grass” is actually etched engraved in the blade 

so I’m going to keep that side up and it looks as if the holes themselves they fit exactly on these studs on the spacer so that will stop the blade moving around independently 

then I’ll put the bolt back in and screw it up by hand 

I’m going to use the tool to tighten up the bolts for the final few turns and I’m going to hold the circle thing so I don't slice my hand 

I don't want to go too tightly and break the thing but I think that's tight enough 

that's not budging so now we're good to go

this is my mower after changing the blades spacing it seems to work 

it seems to be going

can I put up this IKEA Kullen chest of drawers up in half an hour - 30 minutes? 

I’ve got a clock back there - it's five o'clock let's see if I can get this done by half five

This is what it looks like once it's put up 

but I don't know if I can do that in half an hour so that's the challenge with this video 

precious instructions!

it's where we try to do something new every single day and today I’m going to try and put up an IKEA thing in under half an hour 

that has never happened 

we're going to be using this as a bedside cabinet - bedside table for my son's bedroom - we put a new IKEA bed the NEIDEN bed 

a link to that is in the description and up above but let's get through this first 

here's the precious bag of bits 

oh no there's nails in here! 

I’ve got to do nails!

I think these are drawer runners - so I need to put these in four of these in

need screwdriver now

these are dowels that have to go into these pieces 

okay I’m 10 minutes in already, so I’ve already lost a third of my time just doing the first two things

This is a regular thing - trying to get the dowels to line up on an IKEA thing - I never manage to do it right

And then you get the bolt and the allen key and we'll put these screws in the side 

I need to put four of these things down 

ah dammit put them in the wrong hole!

Right I’m over halfway through for time 

it's 5:15 got under half the time left 

I’ve got to hold those bolts in place with these 

oh that's clever 

okay so you put that on and they've given you a little nail holder so you hold the nail with this

Oh right so this helps you to distance the nail - so you put the nail in here

I’m gonna wing it without the holder now

I feel like I should be getting them in with like two hits

That's the family coming back 

The dog is gonna run straight through this! 

I’ve got one minute remaining

And then we put this side on 

that's half an hour I’m giving myself five minute time bonus for not having the screwdriver so leave a comment if you think I deserve another five minutes

let's watch out because there's usually bits of sawdust in there that stops them biting 

and then I slide the baseboard in make sure the white side is up 

and they hold on with these plastic things 

I love these you get to really hammer them 

I can't see my hammering face 

oh fantastic so we're at the end all they do is slide in there's no complicated mechanism... he says

The Kullen two drawer side chest of drawers with two drawers 

did it and there's proof uh five minutes uh sort of 

I’m calling that a win I don't care that was half an hour 

this is what they look like and yeah like I say the... the drawers are a bit stiff to pull out at first but I’m sure that will wear down over time 

it's just one thing here I’m sure I’ll watch over the footage can you see this bump here? 

which looks like oh no was that my hammering? 

oh it might have been my hammering 

that is why you should use the hammering tool I... I went for it 

that's a shame okay that was my fault 

usually I damage it by over screwing and just going too far in 

hopefully my son won't notice

I am sharing how to put these up step by step from start to finish 

and it's all speeded up but you'll still manage to see my pain and pretty much all of the mistakes I make along the way this is the big Christmas present for our daughter you know the big massive one 

and she had no idea this is what was coming so I had to lie to her like this! 

so can you do me a favour 

I’ve got some fencing to build for mummy 

yeah 

for... it’s a Christmas present 

so she can put plants up it

Oh nice!

So could you make sure she doesn't come up to the end of the garden 

okay all right thanks 

it's fencing

I love by the way that I have absolutely no problem lying to her but anyway that's one jeopardy that she's gonna work it out and completely spoil the big surprise and ruin Christmas 

the second massive problem is that I’m doing this on Christmas eve and I’ve only got five hours of daylight to put these monkey bars together am I gonna do it on time

okay this is crucial these grooves have to face down 

because this bar - this is gonna be the... the top of the monkey bars

[MUSIC]

it is really difficult trying to get both bars onto the rungs at the same time 

I just had spent ages moving left and right trying to feed them into the holes 

you push them in one end, they come out the other 

can you see what I’m doing wrong 

I can't figure this out at all

[MUSIC]

the rungs are done yes 

now the pressure's on slightly 

hang on that shouldn't be turning 

oh my god 

of course I’ve messed up a couple of these 

I think you're supposed to put the screws kind of nearer the edge so they don't turn around like this

so I’ll probably do these ones again just to not have them broken

now we have to do the same for the legs either side of this top bar that goes along the top there 

it will look like this 

so I’m going to build those sidebars now and I’ve got to make sure that the... the rungs go uh the right way up you know that the flat bits on the rungs are the right bit up 

but here you can see me screwing 

I’m screwing it a bit more carefully now I’m putting the screws in closer to the edge of the bar that the rungs go into otherwise if you put them in dead centre they just miss the run completely and they just spin around

it's at this point that I need to make a really important phone call 

so is there any chance of a cup of coffee 

how's it going 

it's... it's going 

do you want a biscuit as well?

so here I am fitting the... the other side bar onto the rungs and hopefully this time now the wrongs won't fall out when I am trying to squeeze the bars in 

squeeze the rungs into this sidebar 

oh man 

I don't know if this is coming across on screen but it is raining quite heavily now 

got my coffee in the uh ellen mug 

I think ellen would approve of how it's coming together 

or she'd just yell at me for doing it wrong 

we're now at a really crucial stage that could go horribly wrong because I need to now put the bars up together 

as you can see here you bolt the top row of rungs to these side rungs so that they form ladders either side 

and they're... there I am bolting - bolting it together 

the instructions are very specific about the order of bolts and nuts and washers and a cap on the end there 

so I’m just gonna bolt this together 

but this is the point where my daughter is gonna... she's gonna see what it is 

I don't think she's gonna buy that this is fencing at all

they're watching coco uh in there at the moment 

what I’ve done is I’ve got them to close the curtains so my daughter thinks we're hiding this from mummy 

oh and here's another gift from Dunster House: the screws don't match the dimensions in the instructions 

so it's taking me five minutes to work out these are the screws that I need 

it's difficult to tell from the picture in the instructions but I think you need to take this bar and this is what sets it at 45 degrees 

so if it aligns with the top there and you screw it into the top there and then into the side of the ladder there 

and that's what gives you your exact 45 degrees for the ladders 

so I’m now sheltering from the rain because these instructions Dunster House 

they are absolutely impenetrable and you just can't tell from the drawings what side and where these bits of wood are supposed to go 

plus my daughter is now playing on the trampoline over there 

I think she sort of still believes me that it's a pergola

well I got it on but I’m not sure that that works very well because... and in the instructions it says 1010 goes behind but it doesn't because it... it doesn't fit and it hangs out the other end so that can't be right

I’m getting really wet and fed up with this now

this is so difficult I don't I don't know where this goes 

the instructions are not very good 

so I ran out of time I think I think I’ve got this

so this is a two-person job

they say put 70mm screws into this bar 

look what happens when you do that 

it comes straight through the other end

straight through that 

it's too long 

there you go play time kids

so somehow I managed to not ruin Christmas and six months on you can see they're still standing 

the kids love them 

here's my review though 

they take a day and a half to put up for me 

maybe it's just me but I also found the instructions that come with them absolutely abysmal

my unstoppable wife and I absolutely love watching vloggers like Emily Norris and Brummymummyof2 - and they do videos regularly called “shop with me” or “clean with me” where you get to follow along with them and you... you see them do their shopping and their cleaning 

I’m neil and this is the dad delivers Vlog where I try something new each and every day and today I’m trying this... 

I’m going to try “Mow with me” 

which is just a video of me mowing the lawn 

now obviously this is the first time I’ve done this so I have no idea how it's going to go 

I hate mowing the lawn and I don't know why

it might be because I always leave it too late to cut the grass?

[MUSIC]

so it gets really long

[MUSIC]

and you know makes it just that little bit harder to mow

[MUSIC]

I like the mower 

I actually love the mower as an object 

this is the Flymo simply glide 330 and I actually paid for this with my own money

as a gadget it's really pleasing 

I like the shape 

I really like the colour 

how did they know that orange goes great with green? 

that must have been deliberate that that could not have been by chance

[MUSIC]

it's not perfect 

when I unboxed it there was a giant crack on the spinning drum inside 

I keep meaning to contact Flymo to see if they want to send me a new hover mower instead? 

maybe a more advanced one or a smaller one for me to review? 

but instead of going to the hassle of contacting Flymo is probably easy to you know... just mow the lawn first

I call it a lawn but there are more holes than grass 

this is Casper 

he's featured on the channel before and these are Casper’s trenches 

There is a whole network of trenches 

a network of holes 

just fell down one 

that's how deep it is just to show you how deep this is

when my brother-in-law Andy wanted to do some gardening he joked that Casper could help him with the digging 

and so off Casper went to work 

look at him go! 

did he just push you out the way?

“Get out the way - It’s my hole!”

anyway back to the mowing

this terrain is treacherous 

I’ve let the grass grow all over the holes 

I could set Casper onto finding the holes for me but even he forgets where they are - falls into them from time to time 

that's half of the lawn done so far 

didn't take long but I think I’m going to do the rest of it tomorrow

there are also objects in the grass 

some are fun 

some are fluffy and some are utterly foul 

oh I have a casualty - oops

[MUSIC]

the Flymo Simpliglide 330 blade will make short work of that

I’m going to do this section here and I’m going to probably speed it up a little bit

what is it?

but most of all I don't know why I hate mowing the lawn

this part’s a bit tricky because there are so many stones hidden in the grass 

that they are supposed to be around the hut but Casper likes just picking them up and having a chew and then dropping them wherever

hello welcome back to the channel this is week four of my painful cryptocurrency experiments 

every week I’ve been buying 100 pounds worth British of cryptocurrency and I’ve just hit another weekend and this is the... this is the fourth week I’m doing this 

which means it's a month and look at what's happened in a month that I’ve been doing this 

I think the value of Bitcoin which is what I’ve bought 

I’ll tell you why in a moment 

it's gone down by at least a third 

there's the exact percentage there 

but that was always the plan 

I’ve got to somehow now hold my nerve and keep going which is why it's six o'clock on a Sunday 

I do this every weekend and I’ve waited till the last possible moment I think because I want to wuss out 

but I’m going to keep going and I’m doing this in the... the easiest way possible which is through my PayPal account 

this is just my regular PayPal account and I’ve been I’ve been buying 100 pounds every week of Bitcoin 

so let's go into my dashboard now and I’ll show you exactly what is going on 

you can click on this tab here it's the second tab in I think because PayPal really want to plug this at the moment 

and that will take us into my crypto holdings 

and there is how much I have spent at the moment 

I want to say invested but it's not 

I’m just throwing money into a hole and this could go horribly wrong 

I could lose all of this 

very well aware of that 

but that's part of the experiment 

will I be able to not blink and keep doing this for a year 

I really can't afford this but I’m gonna see it through because there might be an upside 

now I make this graphic every week and I never show it because I always cover it with electronic graphics but I’m gonna show you exactly what I’ve spent in four weeks 

so every week I put in 100 pounds which after fees is actually 102 pounds and one pence 

so the first week I did it and a week later it was worth 83 pounds 

the second week I put another 102 pounds in and that 204 pounds is now worth 178 so last week I did it for a third time 

taking the total to 306 pounds and three pence 

and as you can see on screen now let's punch it up 

that 306 pounds is now worth 268 pounds 75 pence 

and that's going to fluctuate while I’m speaking 

and the rule that I’m playing - it's a really simple rule 

if Bitcoin goes down in the week then I will buy another 100 pounds of Bitcoin 

if it goes up I will start to buy other crypto currencies 

I know for a fact the first one I’m going to try is ethereum 

just because that is also available on the PayPal account here 

and I’m doing this on PayPal because I’ve tried signing up to other platforms 

I tried binance couldn't get verified and then couldn't get a reply from binance as to why I couldn't get verified 

it just looked really sketchy 

I nearly signed up with coinbase or etoro 

I’ve not gone through that yet because I just couldn't face more data mining and just handing over my date of birth and vital personal documents to yet another platform 

Then I discovered that PayPal were offering it just as part of their regular PayPal account so I’m doing it the lazy vanilla way to start with 

and if Bitcoin starts going up then I’ll start to explore other platforms and other cryptocurrencies 

there are 18000 cryptocurrencies out there 

if you were me - leave in the comment which crazy fruity cryptocurrency you would try next if you were in my position 

because you know the best financial advice does come from YouTube comments right? 

anyway let's go in and buy another hundred pounds worth of crypto 

all I need to do is to click the Bitcoin button there 

now that looks nice and green and going up but that's just the last 24 hours

let's see what it's done in a month so when I started Bitcoin was worth about 30000 pounds per Bitcoin 

over the month it has gently rolled down all the way down to here 

it's now worth about 23000 pounds which is a drop of 24% in a month 

the big figure I want to see is what it's done in the last week 

Bitcoin has dropped 3.42% so my... my rule for this experiment is if it drops I’m gonna buy another 100 pounds worth of Bitcoin 

if I scroll down I can see that big bad blue buy button 

oh no that sell!

there we go buy Bitcoin 

and I explain this every week but PayPal's fees for 100 pounds or up to 100 pounds is 2.3% and if you go a penny over it drops to 2% so we're going to go for that so I’m going to type in 100 pounds and one pence then click next 

there goes my sharpie 

so review and buy we still see it going up and down while I’m speaking but this will buy 0.0042 Bitcoin 

there's the transaction fee of two pounds so I will agree and buy 102 pounds and one pence 

you purchased 0.00428064 Bitcoin! 

yeah so right now at the time of recording I have put in 408 pounds and 4 pence and that 408 pounds is currently worth 367 pounds 93.

and if you click on that you can actually buy Bitcoin through PayPal so I wondered what would happen if I bought Bitcoin every week for a year?

would I make some money or would I very much lose all of my money?

so here we are on the on the third week of this experiment it's good to see you 

hello my name's Neil and I'm out in the garden today 

you can probably hear some of the neighbours doing some essential garden maintenance in the background…

I’m not. 

I'm here just throwing money into a hole with no hope or prospects for any guarantee of what might happen next 

and if this is something you are interested in doing I thought I'd make these videos,  so that you can follow along with me and we can see together if this is going to be good news or bad news 

I have a feeling it hasn't been a good week - so let's go into the dashboard now 

this is… this is just a normal PayPal account and up here at the time of recording there is this tab here 

it says “crypto”

they really… I think they really want us to use this 

if you click on that button it opens up this crypto dashboard and this figure right here 178 pounds 50 shows what my Bitcoin is worth 

so this isn’t… this isn't good news 

on the first week I put in 102 pounds and one pence so I invested 100 pounds plus fees and then last week - I’m doing this every weekend by the way - so I'm a few days out but I put in another 102 pounds and one pence so in total I am down 204 pounds and 2 pence and that 204 quid is now worth this - 178 pounds 77 

but this is the reason why I wanted to do this every week 

I'm going to do this every week for a year and the rule is… 

well let's go in and see what Bitcoin is doing this week… so you click on… so it looks like it's going up 

but that's just the last 24 hours 

if I click on the one week button, it is down three percent from last week 

my rule is if Bitcoin goes down in the week then I'll buy another 100 pounds worth 

if it goes up then I'll look at buying another cryptocurrency 

probably Ethereum because that's one of the four currencies that PayPal let you buy 

we can see here that we are down on the last week, so that makes things really simple 

let's buy another hundred pounds worth of Bitcoin 

and to do that it's really easy on the… on the PayPal site 

I can just click on this big buy button down here and it brings up the buy Bitcoin dialogue 

and you can do this on your phone, on your mobile device with a PayPal app 

I've got a video explaining how that works 

it's in the description and on screen now but I'm going to do this on desktop so you can follow along with me 

and we are going to put in 100 pounds and one pence 

now the reason I've gone one pence over is because of the fees that PayPal charges 

there's a little bump where it's 2.3% fee 

if it's a hundred pounds and it goes down to two percent at one pence over a hundred pounds and so I save 29 pence and I need every penny right now 

so let's click on the next button and that brings up this dialogue here 

choose a funding source 

you can take it from your PayPal funds so long as your PayPal balance is more than what you want to buy plus fees 

well I haven't got that in there right now so I'm going to take it from my bank account and it brings up a review and buy window 

so this week my 100 pounds at the moment buys 0.0041Bitcoin and this is the bit that tickles me every week 

that figure fluctuates while I wait 

while I’m… while I'm talking away you can see it just fluctuating away 

it also explains that the transaction fee for this is two pounds so I'm actually going to pay 102 pounds and one pence which is what I'm paying every week so I'm going to click on the agree and buy button there you go 

you purchased 0.413728 Bitcoin so I'll write that on my chart and it's another week of buying Bitcoin 

I have now spent - what’s that 306 pounds and three pence and that 306 pounds is currently worth 277 pounds 93 pence and that's going to fluctuate while I'm speaking so let's see if that goes up or down 

but in the next week, if Bitcoin goes up in value I'll choose one of these other currencies that you can buy on PayPal only because I'm lazy and because I tried signing up with another platform 

I tried Binance - couldn’t even get verified and I looked into Coinbase and Etoro and some others but this just looked at this by far and away looked like the easiest thing to do because I've got a PayPal account 

I think I would go for Ethereum regardless of whether it goes up or down

hello I'm Neil and this is the Dad delivers vlog 

I try something new every single day and today I'm going to buy some Bitcoin using PayPal only on the phone and oh my goodness what a roller coaster it's been 

this is the graph for what Bitcoin has done in the last week 

I know there are all kinds of disclaimers with this video that I need to work through with you but what I'm going to do is you and I are going to buy some Bitcoin together using using just a PayPal account 

This time last week I bought Bitcoin for the very first time in my life 

this is my very first crypto currency purchase 

I had tried to get onto a proper Bitcoin cryptocurrency website and I just I just failed 

I couldn't get verified with one of them and the thought of having to hand all my personal details over to a site that I've never heard of to buy… to buy something that I'll never see and have no idea about was a little bit of a too big a step for me to do 

so I was really shocked when I found out that PayPal now has this crypto tab at the top and I bought 100 pounds 

as an experiment I bought 100 pounds of Bitcoin 

there's lots of things wrong with this picture 

firstly is that I'm dabbling in cryptocurrency at all but it's thrilling you know it's a bit of a gamble 

the second problem is that it's not real cryptocurrency 

I mean we're being told by PayPal that they're good for it and you are actually buying Bitcoin but it's not buying it in the way that the cryptocurrency community buy it which is to actually get it properly electronically 

basically PayPal hold it for me and I know there's that phrase isn't it - if you don't have the key you don't have the coin - but I sort of like the protection that comes from letting someone else deal with that 

even though I'm paying quite a… a saucy fee for that 

I lose my keys to the house 

I can't imagine what I'd be like with keys to crypto currency but it was my way of buying Bitcoin for the first time so I bought… 

look I've got a little graphic here that I've made myself…

so I bought a hundred pounds worth of Bitcoin 

it's a hundred and 100 pounds of one pence 

I am now going to see if I'm going to buy another 100 pounds worth of Bitcoin using the PayPal app 

here's my PayPal app right here and you can see that my 102 pound investment including fees is now worth a whopping 83 pounds 99 pence 

this is just my regular uh PayPal account 

if I click on that crypto button there it takes me into the crypto tab so yeah… the value… the value of it has gone down quite a lot 

now the rule that I'm playing as I… I don't know how long I'm going to do this for 

in my head I'd like to do this every week for a year and just uh play with a hundred pounds every week 

the rule that I'm going to play is that if the Bitcoin has gone down in the week I will buy more Bitcoin 

and if it doesn't go down in a week I will then buy other crypto currencies on PayPal and maybe I'll venture out onto another platform and buy one of the what… 18000 crypto currencies out there 

PayPal only offers four cryptocurrencies 

I'm going to stick with Bitcoin for this week because it has fallen in the week 

we're now going to go into buy 

I'm going to press the buy button 

buy Bitcoin 

now the fees we covered this in the in the last video 

if you click on the fees button it shows you the current fees 

obviously it shows you the current fees for buying crypto and if I go one penny over the 100 pounds, the fee comes down a little bit so I'll save what… 29 pence so if I go back to buy Bitcoin I'm going to type in 100 pounds and one pence and click next 

so it's showing me what my 100 pounds would buy and it’s… it looks like 0.004 

that figure that's fluctuating before my very eyes and so I'd pay another 102 pounds and one pence 

by continuing you understand that crypto isn't regulated its value fluctuates and you can lose money if the value drops 

yes I… I agree and buy 

so click that big blue button at the bottom there 

I've got that's it 

I've just bought my second batch of Bitcoin 

I have invested gambled thrown into the wind 204 pounds and two pence and that is now worth 182 pounds 84 pence 

is this something that you do already or is this something you you're thinking of doing?

Hello I’m Neil, welcome back to the channel.

How do you renew a UK passport online for a child?

And also how do you renew a British passport for a child whose name has been changed by deed poll?

I am applying for a British passport right now.

It won't look like this.

I think they now look blue like this, because being able to travel and live freely across 27 nations was apparently too easy... but I’m going to be applying step by step in real time so you can follow along with me.

And hopefully avoid all of the mistakes that I make along the way - and you and me have got to get this done before that holiday, right? 

There's a link in the description below so you can follow along.

This is what the gov.UK website looks like and we are on “Get a passport for your child”.

I am going to scroll down to the “start now” button.

Do you live in the UK?

Yes! 

And it's brought up this list of how to apply, so let's hit “continue”.

“Date of birth” 

Now I’m going to put in all these details for the child not for me.

The next page says “How to get a digital passport photo”.

You could either do this by using a photo shop or a booth.

That's a photo with a code, or down here: I like the look of this.

“Take a digital photo at home”. 

I think we'll try that one, so you either have a code to enter or “I’ll take and upload a digital photo”.

I’m going to do that.

“How to take a digital passport photo”.

Now obviously this is really important because if you get this wrong, the punishment is: you stay in this country.

We need a plain background.

The lighting needs to be even with no shadows, and you need to be far enough back from your child to get in their head shoulders and upper body.

They have to have a plain expression because, you know, since 2022 the technology can't cope with any kind of emotion.

No headwear. Unless it's for religious or medical reasons.

I’m going to click on the “continue” button, so now it's time for me to take this picture.

I’ve got to find him first.

Hiya, I’ve got to take your photo for the passport.

I need to find a plain background, so if you stand in the hallway... um oh wow that's quite good.

Well that could have gone a lot worse, so upload your photo.

Choose your photo and you get a result! 

I need these on all of my photos of my kids I think...

“The photo result is good”.

I’m going to hit continue.

“Do you want to submit this photo” so I’m going to tick: “Yes, this photo meets the rules”.

Have you had a UK passport before? 

So I’m going to hit “yes”.

Is your passport lost or stolen?

When was your passport issued?

“Is your passport damaged?” 

So it has deduced, “based on your answers, you are renewing a child passport”.

“If you want to change the name on this passport we'll ask for the details later on”.

At the time of recording it costs 49 pounds on the website.

At time of recording the processing time is 10 weeks to receive the new passport.

And if you're watching this video in a blind panic because you have urgent travel needs you can call the passport advice line.

I’ll put that number in the description below, so next I’ll fill in the application details.

I’m going to click “I’m ready to continue” so we need the old passport details next.

We'll need the new passport details and this question here is obviously crucial if your child's name has changed.

“Did you use this name on your old passport?” and then we'll click on “continue”. Previous names: tell us the name on your old passport.

Gender. You're only given two choices.

Were you born in the UK?

The next section is just as enlightened: parents details.

They want mother or “parent 1” and father or “parent 2”. 

I’m very much a parent 2.

Were they married or in a civil partnership?

Oh no it wants my date of marriage.

Oh I can remember it - I’ve got it...

Hiya I’m just checking because it's for the passport office... I just want to double check our date of our marriage?

“What’s does that have to do with the passport?”

I know! 

Do you know what, if you... if you're not a mother and father you're known as parent 1 and parent 2?

How do you decide who's parent 1?

Next it wants the town of birth, country of birth, nationality for the mother... you know the nationality is British even though it's a UK passport. It's bullocks. 

And then it wants the details of the father or parent number 2.

[MUSIC: I’M NUMBER 2!]

Next we'll put in details of our home address and email and mobile phone.

You know if we get this wrong they're gonna round us up in one of those uh... one of those ice cream vans they've got driving around.

“Immigration Enforcement.” 

“You will immigrate!” 

There are two sizes of passports: there's the standard size.

I’m just going to go for the 34 page one.

It’d be lucky if we go anywhere this year.

All passport holders age 12 and older must sign the new passport when they receive it.

There's a summary of the application.

I won't show you mine, so what I’ve got to do now is send the old passport.

You've got to post them the deed poll or similar documents about the name change and one of the following.

Ugh, thought it’d be too easy.

A signed statement from everyone with parental responsibility and one of the following from the last 12 months.

And now we'll get to pay to prove that you are a British citizen and then you have to tick a box as a declaration.

My payment has gone through.

I know you've got 101 questions.

I’ve put a link in the description for all the links to the passport office that will hopefully answer your questions.
