Deep dive into my YouTube Studio analytics at 50000 subscribers!
How much does YouTube pay for a 2.5M video though???
I just hit 50,000 subscribers! To celebrate, I'm opening up my YouTube Studio app in real-time to show you all of my analytics for the last month... including the numbers you really want to see: the revenue.
We'll look at what I earn for 300K views and break down the daily earnings. Then, I dive deep into the performance of my top-earning video (the Google Photos fix!), which is responsible for over half my subscribers.

Welcome back to the channel. This video is uh it's originally for members uh but I'll release it to everyone on the channel because I've made it if I move my face next to my face here. I've just hit 50,000 subscribers. So, I thought, well, why not celebrate that by showing you all of my channel analytics? I'm going to try and show you everything. I'm recording this in a park uh in London on a sunny Friday afternoon, but it means that it's really noisy behind us. So, thank you for uh uh bearing with it. But I thought it'd be worth it just to just to show you uh my analytics. I love watching videos like this because I I like to compare uh how I'm doing and how what I could be doing differently. I hope I hope you take it on that level and I hope this is helpful in some way. So, I'll get rid of my face and scroll down. So, these are my analytics for the last month, the last 28 days. It's I find it frustrating that it doesn't do it by calendar month. Completely understand why, but uh it I sometimes forget that a monthly total is a bit more than this. This is the YouTube Studio app. You can get that on an iPhone and an Android. And I know you just want me to scroll down here to show you the the revenue. So, this is how much money I earned for 50,000 subscribers, even though it's not linked as subscribers. There you go. $1,100 US for nearly 300K views. If I... I'll click in the revenue first because I think that's what you're going to want to see first. But I'll just scroll down. I released a video yesterday on the new feature on YouTube. It's AB testing for titles, which I've been waiting for for about 10 years. So, I put a video out yesterday. Interestingly for me, I didn't release it to subscribers. So, I unchecked the box that says, "Do you want your subscribers to be notified?" I didn't just to see what would happen. These views then haven't come from notifications. They've come from um people seeing the thumbnail. and I get 54 views, which is pretty much how things are when I release something on YouTube. Uh, I'm a I'm a grower, not a shower. And I... I don't know. I mean, I it is... it's a bit dispiriting when uh uh when you get 50... 50 views. But I'm very grateful for them. And each of those views have watched for a minute and a half for a video that's probably I think only a few minutes long. Uh so that's doing quite good for me I think. I have some other stellar performers here which I hope to show you. But let's go into the revenue and we can see some details here.
If I click on the revenue button that's what I had done. Here we go. So yesterday, for instance, my channel here earned $46.41
and I'm sort of bumping along that level at the moment on this channel. I have two channels and I'll share the other channel on another video. I have the Dad Delivers vlog which does about half of this. Well, not even half. It gets about $20 a day. So, I am really pleased with with how this is going. Uh, I'd love to get it up to $100 a day. In a month for this channel, I get $1,188
and and that's missing a day at the moment. So, I'm a day even a day extra in delay from the day delay. And this is how much I earn for my top earning videos. So, I've just shown you a video that I've just released that had 52 views. This video has had 2.5 million views, which is 140,000 watch hours since it was released. I think it Yeah, 3 years ago, thousand days. And if I scroll down, I'll show you how much uh 2.5 million view video gets. How much do you think it's going to be along the top here? Look, I've got a pen. I could show you. We've got different tabs. Um, so I'm going to show you this tab over here, the revenue. I'll slide across and then we can see. Oh, look. I could change color. Um, I don't know how I clear it though. Just undo. Undo. I'll scroll across. Oh, let's turn the pen off.
This is the reach. It's had 22 million impressions for my 2.5 million views and the clickthrough rate. So, bubbles between 7 and 14% over time. Let's scroll across.
These still in reach. Yeah. Now, we go over to engagement. It's a nice long video. So, the average view duration is three minutes for this. And I I don't like the look of hype. I don't know if you've tried hype where you basically pay your way to views. I'm never going to do that, I think, on YouTube. I much prefer the organic growth. The audience for this 5.2 million view video?
It's gained me 26,000 subscribers. So, if I've hit 50... 50,000 subs, this one video is responsible for more than half my subscribers. If you're watching this and you're a subscriber, chances are you might have subscribed on my Google Photos video. I'm worried about that obviously because this video is about uh being a creator on YouTube and uh it's not about fixing your photos on Google. Mostly male audience for this video. Let's go to the revenue for this 2.5 million view video. It has gained me over three years $13,000. Oh my goodness. Just incredible. If I go into this statistic, I can show you how that looks over the year. By the way, I... I do dislike how YouTube Studios throws you to the middle of the page rather than the graph at the top. I'll just keep scrolling up each time. So, this is what my Google Photos video does over a year. It takes a dip during the summer. Sorry about the traffic noise. Uh, just makes it more enigmatic. I guess the the revenue does drop during the summer and then there's that big chunk. Can you see over here in September to December? I can't scroll down to get it all in. I'll just keep bouncing up and down. So, this time last year, this video was getting me between $17 and $26. If I just get a date for that. Yeah, end of November. $26 for one video for one day. It's absolutely incredible. I get about $50 a day for this channel. I'm trying to speak a lot now because there's copyright music coming from it from a car window, but of the $52, I get 26 of that from this one video. I'm starting to diversify. I have other videos that are doing well. We we'll have a quick look at those. But that is what a 2.5 million view video gets over time. Uh, I could show you all of 2025.
This is how it performs. It seems to be doing better recently. I think that's because people are now, you know, it's getting darker. It's getting colder. People now want to fix their Google Photos. And the last 28 days, you just see it even more clearly. It gains me $380 a month roughly. So, I'm getting something more like between $15 and $20 a day for this one video.
