First London bike after my crash... Back on Santander Cycle Hire after 13 years...

This is my first time back on a Boris Bike, after a major crash that was so bad, all I remember is seeing the A&E ceiling. 13 years later, I go out with my son back on the Santander Cycle Hire bikes and this time the new E-bikes released for hire in London. We rent the cycles from a docking station in Waterloo, head over Westminster Bridge to turn right at Big Ben and the Houses Of Parliament onto Victoria Embankment, past Blackfriars and up to the Tower Of London at Tower Hill. This is a real time bike ride, with all the sights and sounds from my bike ride POV...

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
we go yeah sorry go for it hello welcome back to the channel and this is uh a slightly different video for this channel but it's a really big day for me because this is the first time that I'm getting back onto a Boris bike in London after a really terrible crash 13 years ago
so this is the first uh footage the first time I've been back on a cycle hire cycle the santander Cycles and since since this terrible crash and I I went with my son and we decided to just grab a bike and ride around London and just see see where it takes us
and it is... it... it was so epic
I'm not sure it comes across
this video is just going to be real time footage of that first bike ride after I completely smashed my face in and knocked myself unconscious for 3 hours
I've literally no idea what happened in the time I was out and I have cycled since but I haven't been back on a Boris bike
these are the blue bikes that you can hire from docking stations uh around London and uh they've now released electric bikes so you can now get an e-bike that you can just rent and cycle around and you you're charged for however long it is before you dock the bike again obviously
um keep an eye out keep an eye out people opening their car doors cuz they're not looking and taxi doors are the worst we've hired electric bikes before and they've been really good value but the the value of santander bikes is incredible
it's insane if you are visiting London I highly recommend just jumping on a bike but I did wear a helmet
that's the only crucial difference we did come prepared with helmets uh because I don't want to be in a hospital Corridor ever again so come come ride along with us
there's some weird chitchat along the way
we are cycling from waterloo station over Westminster bridge and along Victoria embankment to Tower Hill and there'll be some other videos in this playlist where we talk a bit more and we travel to some other places in London but this is the first video to get us going thanks for coming along with us on this ride

thank you oh my god s SM the bridge and there big pain
go right
we did it there we are
uh so we're going to head down the embankment now I think there's some kind of process going on there trying to avoid this it's going to be busy later
just row out
oh there we
go it is mad busy today it's is uh August and it's a Saturday I know about 20 demonstrations today but none of these people look like demonstrators that's the time
I'm well over my 20 minute limit
so watch the um oncoming we're going to go right and then down that cycle Lane yeah they going to be mad cyclist as well
so is it I've got it on the camera they're doing them
first a don't we'll see that we'll get more it's not going to fall out of your pocket is it you can put it get my bank if you want okay here we
go thank you you okay
all right
Hey Joe come alongside can you see people just aren't looking what they're
doing all sorry crank you
you see people just aren't looking
you okay
it shows the speed and I think it's capped at 27 km per hour uh cuz it you just can't get any more power out of
it you okay
he
Lo
you're in third game
yeah thanks
Hey Joe I might change bikes so that I can um get another 30 minute period I think I've already gone over but we'll
see no they they see red light flashing yeah okay
I I think there's a thing under
here charging the dog
yeah yeah which is the advantage that they have over the line but they've always had those dock they Char yeah they must have um you know fitted
them I can't see it should show you how much long you've got left on your hire shouldn't it yeah
anyway should go to to of London okay
you want go in front
oh hold done see we're going under my school all
right screen for the traffic I think we wait for go now we could but yeah let's um yeah that which would not be a good thing I could really do with a drink we go to Tower Hill and get a drink Dr bikes and get a drink
yeah do you want let the super 73 have take here
yeah you pull forward I'll stay and then catch you
up he's going for it
sound it he really used
that oh Joe oh okay
okay wasn't expecting this I think we should have gone right left
okay this is uh my dad's house lived over there it's all changed now I don't think uh my son has noticed that I'm not here okay
hi
yeah there's a hole of London a hole in London my series holes of London it's this London Bridge over there they gone quite away oh here we go green
all mind if I go in front uh for this next section and then we'll stop at uh town of London yeah what's
up you
okay oh is it all at 4K no okay tell me to put it in your bag
all right
I...
I'm looking for a docking station it's green now go go go I'm looking for a docking
station okay thanks
wow
right I need to find docking station
I think there's one over
there just going to turn around
say got to call it got to call
it yeah I need to sh said on your right but he didn't so we got to have 360 awareness so what happened there was some uh likely sped past me like really close but I didn't know he was there if I swerve to the right i' have no idea uh so always good to call it if you overtake someone you should know that if you got your own bike
so so f
and so we found the docking station it's time to dock the bikes and this ride only cost us about a tenner each incredibly good value so we made it to the Tower of London I'm calling this a dad delivers success thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the Subscribe button it really helps us to keep this channel going and right here is this playlist of all the other places that we've gone together this is crazy Jo this is so crazy I'm going to take a break in the recording there oh it's brilliant

How do you open a stuck PVC window handle and also replace it?
In this video, I tackle a common household problem: fixing a stuck handle on a PVC window. If you've been struggling to open your bathroom window even after pressing the button, this step-by-step guide is for you.
I’ll walk you through a simple method to get your uPVC window open and then show you how to replace the broken handle with a new one. Whether you're an experienced DIYer or just trying to keep your family happy, you can follow along as I fix this window in real-time!

There are some unexpected challenges: finding the right handle size and cutting it down to fit perfectly. By the end of this, your window will be functioning like new, and you'll be able to let in some much-needed fresh air!

How I open a BROKEN PVC window handle! Plus... fit a new one...

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!

Hello, welcome back to the vlog, and welcome back to my bathroom. We... we've been in here a few times too many, I think. But is your handle on your PVC window broken?
Is it... does it just not move? Is it not working, even if you press the button in? The handle on the PVC window doesn't open? I think I've got a solution for this. I'm going to do this for the first time in real time so you can follow along with me. We try new things every day to make your family happy, and the thing I'm trying today to make my family happy is to... is to open the crucial bathroom window because Daddy... Daddy might change the smell in here from time to time, and if they can't let it out the window, I... I think we will have breathing difficulties.
Come on, Cohagen! You got what you want!
Give these people AIR!
I... I've tried WD40. It doesn't work. Uh, basically, you push the button in, and for some reason, the catch doesn't... doesn't turn. And I know that it's not locked, because the button does go in and out, and it... you can lock it, and the button doesn't move.
Let me show you how this handle works when it works.
Let's go to my son's bedroom, and this will help you to do this technique that I'm about to show you.
But here we have... obviously, the handle is on a different orientation, but if I press the button and open it, it opens. And can you see inside? There is that catch there.
So when it's working, you push the button in, and the catch releases, and that catch sits inside this kind of square metal block here.
So when you close the window, the catch lifts itself up because it's got that kind of, uh, slide on it, and that's going to be crucial for our technique.
And then when you close it, it should click into place, and the click is the... the plastic button sitting in that metal kind of window.
That's... that metal bed. So if I press the button again, obviously, it opens.
So what we need to do is to get something inside that to lift that plastic catch.
Now, what I'm going to use is my Post Office travel money card, which was really good—it really works!
You can just load it up with money, but we're going to try it for this.
Now, I did try it with cardboard because I thought the gap would be too thin.
But a... a... a credit card or piece of plastic should be able to get in.
What we're going to do—can I get in closer?—so I'll try and get you as close as possible.
I'm going to slide the corner all... all the way in so that hopefully it pushes the catch up.
And obviously, you need to make it all the way through the... the... the handle.
And now you can just turn the handle! Ta-daa!
My family can breathe again!
Give these people AIR!
But now what we've got to do is replace the handle because obviously, if you click it... oh no!
We're going to push this open again like that—open it goes. We're going to...
Sorry, I'm just straddling the... the nice bamboo shelf in the bath.
We are going to pry off this cap with a very sharp flathead screwdriver, and underneath—hopefully that hasn't fallen down the... the plug hole—but underneath you have a... a screw there and a screw there, which obviously you can't get to if the handle is... is locked.
So use the card to open it, and then we're going to unscrew these two screws.
This might be one step beyond your DIY, but bear with me, I think this is going to be straightforward and easy.
We're going to undo... I've got my, uh, my trusty Ikea screwdriver as well, and we're going to take out these two screws, and it should just pull out like this. So there's the spindle in there that turns the lock in there—oh—yeah, obviously, I should... I should probably have opened the window first thing on it.
I didn't want to lose the screws out of the window.
You can open the window.
Now I'm going to look online on Amazon to see if I can find a new PVC window handle.
It is now one day later, and finally, my PVC window handle has arrived from Amazon.
I'll leave a link down in the description for a search to get you to the same kind of handles.
You can also get these in DIY superstores. I'm just being lazy, but you can get these in pairs or in greater numbers, so you might get a better deal. I've gone for two because I'm pretty sure this is going to happen again sometime.
This is the old handle, and this is the new handle, and can you see? The... I have to move my face. Can you see that the... the spindle size is different? So what I'm going to do, I think, is see if I can take this out. Oh, you can't—you can't take it out. Oh no. I am really hoping that this works and that this isn't too long for the hole. By the way, if your handle is broken and you've got the handle off and you still can't unlock the window, you can use this section here to turn the lock that's actually inside the window.
Let's use the old one to close the window, just pull it to.
Fingers crossed. I'll bring the camera closer now, we'll see if this will actually fit and if it'll actually work. So I'm going to put that square peg into the round hole...
But there is a square hole in there, and... oh, only just, only just. You can see that there's a bit of a gap. Don't know what I'm going to do about that.
I have tried with some pliers, and I cannot get this to budge at all. It just won't come out. You are going to have to find a hacksaw to... to bring down that length.
Ah, it's... it's never easy! Do I... do I... do I bother?
Do I bother?
Let's just do it for the video.
I'm going to mark roughly the length of the other one onto the new one. I think it's only a little bit over, so I don't actually have to take that much off. I am just using a junior hacksaw for this.
And I hate sawing metal—partly because it's so hard and takes a long time, but also because these metal shavings that come off, the splinters aren't great to have on the floor while we walk around with no shoes on.
This takes a lot of work.
I... I've sped this up. I started off with bits of wood between the clamp and the handle to protect the white coating on the handle, and then in the end, it was so much faff, I gave up and just put the clamp on directly just to hold it in place so I could get maximum sawing in.
In the end, I have to use some pliers to snap it off. Hey, got it! So now it should be the right size.
Back in the bathroom, and pretty much for the same reason... for the same reason, the new handle comes with new screws, but they're longer, so I don't want to chance it.
I'm going to use the old screws to put the new handle in place, and we'll put the square peg into the square hole inside there—that's the actual lock.
And you can see now that the handle is now flush with the window.
Kind of worth the sawing!
And now I'll put the old screw in, and then I can open it—oh no, no! You're kidding me. You are kidding me. Oh, look...
Okay, I thought I'd broken it, so I've put it on the wrong way. Now I can open it, yes! [Music]
And finally, you can cover up the screws with these caps.
Let's try this again. We'll test it—window opens, window closes, handle locks.
I'm calling this a Dad Delivers success!
That was a really hard one. I don't know why, but thank you for saying hi in the comments or hitting the thumbs up or the subscribe button. It really helps me to keep this channel going. Good luck with your window, and right here is what YouTube knows you want to be watching next!

yeah now there's a oh...
I've run out of track!
Ow!
frottage!
Come on you want to see this don't you, so uh let's find the remote control.
I've got it paired up
so I'll just take it back and this is for running it through the the tunnel
oh and my son shot this so he he built the track and he shot this footage of the train making it through the tunnel
He had to take the pantograph off the the top
I've adjusted the tunnel
I think the tunnel slipped when I pushed the armchair back so uh I've adjusted it now
hopefully it won't hit the ceiling
let's see if it makes it through the armchair
go on, away you go
yeah
let's go backwards full speed
okay I think... the Tunnel of Love is a success!
I don't know why I'm calling it The Tunnel of Love
I love it that's why!
there great we've done it
that's the loop
remote control here
see if we can make history
we'll see if we can make the train go around
I'll put it on four and hopefully it won't hit a cable or something
oh no ah!
I can move these cables and I'll pin them as well
right so it's into the tunnel
it's through the tunnel
it's going under the bench
it's so hidden I can't push the camera under!
we're across the front door that was the first phase
and now it's going to go under this bench
and it's going to go into the armchair tunnel
will it make it out the other side?
yes!
we did it!
we did it!
I've done it!
I wish it were lit better
I... I'll get you a... let's get a light going thing
got a nice light there
I've done it!
I cannot believe after all these years of thinking about this that I've finally managed to get the Lego City train tracks hidden... a hidden layout all the way around the happy hut
it... it looks really small but it it's taken hours to try and path this layout all the way around all the cables and boxing it in
I... I just can't believe this train is doing top speed over so much fake Lego Track
the fake Lego Track - the off-brand track works and it's magnificent
and it has really got me out of a hole because this would have cost me a fortune to have done this with official Lego Track
and even better the train runs really well over the flexi track
over the flexible tracks - the fake flexible tracks - that's the section that has meant that I can link one end to the other and the train just Glides over it without a hitch
I know what I need to do now: I need to get some kind of cork underlay I think
just to help
I don't mind the noise but it would help it run more smoothly I think
and I also need to now put in some... some points I can put in some station platforms and have some pass through Loops where I could put other trains
I can start buying trains now!
and I've got my eye on the Lego streetcar which I need to motorize
oh I can't believe it - should I make it go faster?
Let's uh I'll put it on seven here we go get remote
right just pushed it all the way up this is top speed
we are good to go
I am calling this a dad delivers success
thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the Subscribe button it really helps me to keep this thing going and do you know what I think there might be one or two Lego train videos coming up in the future now this is running I can't believe it's still going

Best WATER BOTTLES on Amazon?! ION8 first impressions reviews and unboxing...

BUY ION8 bottles HERE! (I earn Amazon commissions from these links, thanks)

What is the best water bottle for kids on Amazon? My favourite is already the ION8 range of plastic and metal bottles and travel cups - I've bought 5 with my own money. Now ION8 has sent me some of their range with the new 2.0 lids: a Stainless Steel travel mug, Recycled plastic cycling bottle, metal flask and plastic water bottle for school... I love the colours and the design and give my first impressions reviews of the new range.

Best WATER BOTTLES on Amazon?! ION8 first impressions reviews and unboxing...

TRANSCRIPT: (CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE)

THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT - CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE!
Hello, welcome back to the channel, and this is a really special day for the channel. Take a look at this! I have never, ever been sent anything from a company for the channel, and the good people at ion8 water bottles have sent me these. I... I am really into water bottles. They are such a crucial part of our day-to-day family life. That sounds a bit overblown, but it's true. I mean, they... they need a water bottle every day, I need a water bottle, and I actually made a video about the ion8 bottle from Amazon because I was a big fan. It didn't taste plasticky, you didn't have the usual ends, and the lid is fantastic. And I've been using this ion8 water bottle pretty much daily for about 3 years. And I don't know if you can see—if I go close—the lid is marvelous, but the clip on the back, over time, wear and tear, just being smashed around daily, um, has kind of, uh, given up. But the lid still works. The timing could not be more perfect. So thank you, ion8. You... I salute your... your reaching out. Let's see what's in the box. This is really exciting!

The first bottle in the box isn't a water bottle. It is an insulated steel, uh, reusable coffee cup. And the reason ion8 got in touch with me is because they have new clips at the top, new lids. Uh, so there's a brand new design. And on this blue bottle, you can see that the handle—the clip—is recessed into the lid, which is a really nice touch. The second new feature I've noticed is that the button that pops open the lid is lockable. So if you push the button up, it locks it in place, which is handy. And then on top of that, you've got the ion8 clip that also stops the lid from flying up. So you've got two fail-safe systems there—two layers of protection. And inside the lid, uh, you can see there's a really, uh, generous sipping hole. I don't... what do you call it—a hole that you drink from? And also an air hole, so that, uh, you can drink unimpeded.

Let's take the lid off. Just unscrew the lid. It comes, obviously, with a bit of, uh, silica gel. You can see it's insulated steel, so there's a steel inner inside the bottle to keep your coffee, or hot drink, or cold drink hot or cold. This travel mug also has fantastic grip around the outside. It's like a rubberized grip, and we have that rubberized edging along the lid at the top. So, really stylish, and obviously, it comes in a range of colors. It is 360 ml, which is 12 oz in the US of A and elsewhere. Should we see how it pours? So, in goes the third of a liter, and here's the shake test. This is with no triple-lock protection on. Here we go. If I open it and give it a pour... so that's the kind of flow—whoa—that's the kind of flow you get with the coffee, the insulated steel travel mug.

Let's see what's next in the box. What should we go for? Let's go for this—ooh—this is a green, really nice green Recyle bottle. It's called Recyle because it's a transparent, carbon-neutral plastic, partly made from plants. So, we have some grooves on the side for grip, and you have the water quantity measures on the side there. So, you can actually follow how much water you're drinking in a day. The lid is the new feature lid. It has got a name—I'll put it on screen now—for their new technology, their new LIF lid technology. But we've got the recessed carry handle, which is really nice. Also, the triple-lock, uh... lock, what would you call it? I don't know. I'm like... I'm like the iJustine for water bottles. I really like... I like this role!

So we've got the triple lock, which means you can slide the button up, and you can flip the loop up to stop the lid flying off when you least want it to. And it's a plain water bottle. It's a really nice design on the water spout, and, uh, an air hole to... to let that in. And in the lid, we've got these kind of rubberized grommets that basically keep the holes covered up and keep... keep it watertight. What I really love about these water bottles is... I just... oh, we just went through so many water bottles where the kids would chew the end—I would chew the end—of the nozzle, and over time, you just get those little micro bits of plastic in your mouth. That's... that's not good, is it? With these, because it has a... a different kind of plastic, it's not chewable, but it's... you know, it's a... it's a really great water spout. That is way more than I thought I'd be talking about water spouts today!

If we open it up, you can see the lid twists off. And let me show you inside the lid. All the lids are like this. There's like a... I don't know the word for this—is it a rubber gasket? Well, it's not rubber, but there's a gasket in place to keep the waterproofing in place when you do the lid up. So, that's really handy. Let's do the P test. So I don't know if I'll pour in wa... this is 24 oz, which is 750 ml, so 3/4s of—oh no—I left the, um, the moisture sachet in. Wow, this is a... a lot of water, which is good. I mean, this is pretty much what I should be drinking. Uh, so I flip the lid, and we'll do a PO test. And let's do a... a shake test. Completely leak-free. I've got some bits from where I've mispoured it. Let's put the lock on. Triple lock on there—that'll be good in a school bag. I really like the size of this. 750 ml is pretty much what I should be drinking in a day, and a really nice design, really comfortable to hold. I think I'm going to treasure this one. I'm going to have this one for myself, I think.

Let's look at the next... the next one in the box. This is a stainless steel... oh, this is a beast! This is a canteen. This is a 40 oz—that's 1.2 L—stainless steel, leak-proof water bottle. The thing with this is it actually feels quite light for something that's stainless steel. So, we have the triple lock lid and integrated carry handle that fits into the recessed section for it in the lid. And if I open this up, you can see it is pure stainless steel inside. And like the other ion8 bottles, it is dishwasher safe, which is handy. They're easy to clean, and they don't keep any smell, or odor, or flavor. That said, I've not encountered that with the other plastic bottles, but it's even more the case with a metal bottle. I... I can fit this in my rucksack. So, it's... it's a stretch, but I can fit it on the... the side pouch of my backpack.

Let's do the spill test, and this feels really heavy when it's filled up. This is like 1.2 kg. Better not drop it on my head. Nice spill—fantastic! And that's without even putting on the triple lock on the lid. And it pours like this. We... we could be here for some time because there is a lot of drink in here. Uh, I also love the... the... the shape of the spout. It means you can get it at just the right angle without the water pouring out of the air hole on the top. Um, I think... I think you've got the... the gist of this now.

The next bottle is—wow—this is quite a striking blue. It's a leak-proof, slim water bottle, vacuum-insulated, so it's got double walls. It's made of stainless steel. We have the... the... the ion8 cap that you've become familiar with now from the other bottles. So, it's got the triple lock, and it's also got the recessed carry handle. This bottle does feel a lot slimmer than the others, so this might be good for maybe on a bike—you know, to put it in your bike rack or the side pocket of your rucksack or backpack. And if we open up the lid, you can see that's, uh, super clean, really nice brushed metal there. ThermoShield—it's called Prograde ThermoShield stainless steel. It's extremely durable, lasts for years, and is carbon neutral and fully recyclable. This refillable and reusable drinks bottle is food safe, odor resistant, and easy to hand wash. It protects the temperature for hours and keeps drinks fresh and full of flavor. There—you wouldn't have guessed that I just read that from their website!

Let's do the... the shake test, and we'll do a little pour demonstration. I love the spouts on these—they're really satisfying. Hey, I don't know if, um, ion8 sent me some other things as well. They also sell accessories. So, we have a wrist strap, which I guess is designed to fit the ion8 bottles specifically. Let's have a look. Okay, so it's like a rub... a like a wristband with a nice fetching embossed ion8 logo there and, I guess, a loop to fix it to the bottle. Let's try and put one on. I don't know how quickly I can do this, but in the bottle lid, can you see there's a special carry handle hole there? So if I put this through, I think if you feed the... the strap through the cable like this, it then fixes the wrist strap to the bottle. There! That looks really fetching, doesn't it? Look at that!

Oh, there's also this straw, which is designed specifically for the 500, 600, and 750 ml bottles. Let me show you. It's got a special screw attachment at the top, and this is designed to fit the... the water spout exactly. Now, you just push it in at that, and then you can fit that on the bottle. The straw appears here, which means that when you're drinking, you kind of... you can suck on the water spout. So it's like a giant sippy cup, which I... I kind of like the thought of.

I am calling this a Dad Delivers success! I really like these water bottles already. I bought this one with my own money, and now it has a wrist strap, which is kind of cool. Thank you, ion8, and thank you for being the first company to send me stuff. Thank you for hitting the thumbs up or the subscribe button—it really helps us to keep this channel going. So thank you, and right here is what YouTube knows you are going to love watching next!
