How do you turn off that really annoying thing where Google speaks the search result out loud on your phone? It's frustrating and sometimes embarrassing when you're out and about and your phone starts reading out loud the answer to the thing you've just searched. Sure, I love chatting. I also love animal facts. We are going to turn this off together in real time. Here's my phone on screen now. And there are three places where we can turn this off. We need to check all three of these because different Google searches seem to trigger the speech outputs on our phones. The first place to look is in the Google app. I didn't even know there's an actual app for Google. So, we'll open this up. Then, click on your face, which is your profile picture in the top right hand corner. Scroll down to settings. Click on that. Then look for a menu option called voice. If we click on that, you will see this toggle switch here, spoken results. We can turn this on and off just by pressing on it. Let's turn it off. This doesn't fix all the times our phones talk to us, though. The next place we need to go is really hidden. Open the Chrome app on your phone, which is the main browser on Android, and go to google.com. This is so sneaky. Tap the three dots on the top right hand corner, and then scroll down to desktop site. We'll tick the box here. And that now reloads the page to make it look like it would on a computer. So, the text is really tiny. We're going to have to pinch and zoom on the screen to show the very bottom right hand corner of the page. You can see this really small link to settings. Tap on that and that brings up this menu. We need to click on search settings at the top here. On this page, it's small again. So, pinch and zoom to go all the way into the left hand sidebar. And we will click on other settings. And here under the desktop section, look at this. This is so sneaky. You will see spoken answers and a toggle switch. This is why we get the phone reading out answers to our Google searches. We can turn this on and off by clicking on it. So, let's toggle this switch to off. Once you've done this, don't forget to tap on the three dots on the top right hand corner of the screen again and untick desktop site to go back to the normal view on your phone. The final place to look, and I don't know why this isn't connected to anything else, go into settings on your phone. It's the app with the cog icon, and search speech output. On the results, we'll scroll down to others. And it looks like it's connected to Google Assistant, but I can't find this menu option anywhere. I have only found it through search settings. We will click on speech output. And here, I've no idea where you'd find this in an app. We have three options for how conversational your search and assistance will be. full, brief, and none. Obviously, we want none. So, we'll select that. I am calling this a dad delivers success. I love chatting with you. You have turned off the Google voice in three different places. Let's hope it doesn't come back. Thanks for being awesome by hitting the thumbs up or the subscribe button. I really appreciate it and it helps others find this video. So, thank you. And right here is what YouTube knows you will love watching next. They say it's politest to stick to two subjects, the weather and people's health. Right.

Ride along with me in real-time on a cold, wet December morning as I cycle from Waterloo Station to Barbican. I’m testing out the DJI Nano Camera in challenging low-light conditions and the DJI Mic Mini microphone for wind noise. I avoid the busy IMAX roundabout, opting for the quieter route past the National Theatre, over Blackfriars Bridge, through Ludgate Circus, and into the historic Smithfield Market during the busy Christmas meat trade. I also share some personal moments on my cycle safety in London after a major accident 15 years ago. Whether you're interested in the route, the camera and microphone, or the sunrise views, join me for this sedate morning commute.

Good morning. We are at sunrise here at uh not so sunny Waterloo. It's uh it's about a week before Christmas. So, it's a cold December morning. Actually, it's quite mild, but uh it has been raining. So, the roads are looking pretty slippery this morning. That could make the ride really interesting. I'm going to head from Waterloo to Barbican in real time. and uh you can ride along with me. Here is my ride this morning. It's the 63283 electric bike. It's got fully charged. If I give it a kick, we're fully charged. Uh nice wet seat, so I'll be drying that as I go. And hopefully I've not done this since August, so hopefully we can do this without incidents. Undock the bike.

That's a good start. I've got a new mount for my DJI Nano.

Yeah, it's funny being on the Santander bikes at this time of year because it was the 12th of December uh 15 years ago that I managed to have a terrible crash on one of these. So terrible that I have no idea what happened. Literally, it's blanked for my for my brain. Uh, all I know is I woke up uh looking at a hospital ceiling. So, uh I think somewhere in my brain I've got I've got an urge to be very careful. And we've got some wet iron work on the road as well. So, we going to be careful on those. So, this could be quite a sedate ride. Now, I've got a choice. I can either I don't know. I can either go to down to upper ground, which is safer but longer, or I can fight it down Stamford Street. I think I'm going to go down upper ground cuz it's uh uh nice and secluded. Here we go.

They finished the building work here now as well, which is cool. Couldn't ride down here before.

It's down to concert hall approach and turn right onto upper ground. Check for traffic. Hooray.

Yes. So, this has seen a lot of building work recently, but that seems to have shut down for Christmas, which is nice. Um, if I were in a rush, I'd have gone over the dreaded Waterloo roundabout round the IMAX and down Stamford Street. Uh, which is much quicker. I do that when I've got a tight time uh pressure, but I've left lots of time for this morning, so that's good. Just past the National Theatre.

And this is I think my first bike ride on using the DJI Nano camera. So, I might put this on my uh on my camera channel or yeah, my YouTube channel about YouTube or I might put this out on both the travel channel and my and my how to make YouTube videos channel. Uh so, if you're watching on the Neil Mossey channel, hello. Uh this is what the DJI Nano looks like. And oh, sad site on the left hand side. I won't move the camera. Um, they've demolished LWT.

Got a car behind me. I want to let him go.

These wet um wet tiles are not fun to ride on.

My god. Got big puddles as well. So, it's good it's not raining, but everything is a bit slippery. Whoa. Got some love holes on the uh on the roads.

You can go.

Now, this is a weird cycle path cuz it looks like you're going the wrong way, but it's actually marked out on the road as I'm riding into head-on traffic on a oneway street. Ah, so we go around the BMW here.

Uh but the cycle lane is really faded. So uh

that's not good for the cars.

So, we'll turn left. This is where the Okay, this where the cycle lane meets the pavement. We got a nice join here. Level join onto the

cycle lane.

See if I can lift the camera off. Give you a better view. We said check it's still recording. Yeah, we're recording.

So, we're going over the rivers.

Got uh St. Paul's and Blackfriars over there. City of London lit up. All the city workers there already

trying to make that wealth divide bigger. Keep reaching for the skies, boys. Okay, back to

here. Now, I'm going to stop here. I get I take umbrage as there's no one to hear me saying this at the moment, but it really annoys me watching bikes go through this light cuz there are pedestrians and it's pedestrian crossing. Uh, let's see how many go through. There's number one forest point.

There's another one.

Okay.

It annoys me because when I had the accident, we didn't have any of this infrastructure at all. And now we've got it. People just ignore it. It's a shame.

On to I think this is called New Bridge Street.

Got slippery iron work here. So I've got to pull out, but I've got people overtaking me.

Coming up to Ludgate Circus and Farringdon. I can never remember if it's Farringdon Street or Farringdon Road. I think it's Farringdon Road.

See if we can make the green light. Ah, okay. I'll give you a view of Ludgate Circus and uh Fleet Street.

I don't understand. I'll tell you in a minute.

Heat. Heat.

Seems I'm not here.

Heat.

Heat.

Yeah, what I was going to say was I was going too fast to stop that poor guy on the zebra crossing. What? I don't understand the mentality of going through the red lights when pedestrians are crossing. That's really not good. But I'm not here to judge. I'm just here to get to my destination safely. Oh, by the way, I'm using the DJI Mic Mini this morning. Again, first time uh on a bike, so be interesting to see if you can hear any of this. I've got it really quite close to my mouth on my shirt, but I've got to do a right turn here. People overtaking.

Shucks.

This the uh London Museum being built in the old Smithfield Market. Keep hearing different titles where it's Museum of London. Museum for London. And over there it's called the London Museum. London Museum would be a lot more sense.

So we're going to go through Smithfield and weave our way through uh to get to the Barbican or just Aldersgate street.

Can't believe I'm here before sunset. I suppose uh these are the shortest stays at the moment. Got three more days of this.

I guess he couldn't wait.

It's not just because I'm wearing a camera that I'm reading carefully. Is because of my really bad accident.

Got them. I wonder if I can show you've got um Holborn Viaduct on the right there. It just went under that. Oh, here we go.

Look at this. Free parking. What's that about?

Oh, okay. So, there's free parking for Smithfield customers trying to help Smithfield out while they're demolishing. Yep. Wow.

All right.

Slow down.

check both ways. Wow. So, usually when I come in, it's not nearly this busy, but they're still loading up meat. And this is Christmas meat. The uh this is the it's stitching in there, mate. This is the most important meat of the year coming through. This is confusing. Got a stop line here with the lights over there.

Pull to the left pass.

Okay,

that's sensible.

Okay, and then the final street. So, we've gone around Smithfield into I can't see the road name. Oh, here we go. Charterhouse Street.

So, what do you think of the camera footage? It is it coping with the dark lighting conditions? It's not light, but uh the sun's not up yet. Be interesting to watch this back and see see the footage. Oh, I'll let him go. Always

good with a fan driving head on. There we go. Now I'm going to cross over. I love this docking station. Give him a nod. I love this docking station. It's always got a bike free. It's one of the most underrated bike docking stations in London, I think. So, I'm just going to cross over. Probably going to walk across now.

There we go.

There we go. We're docked. Let's take the camera off. It looks like we're still rolling.

So, thank you for coming on this ride with me. That was a nice short uneventful one. Always good. Um, and this is weird. I only came up with the idea of having the uh running this on two channels while I was riding. So, if you're watching this on my Neil Mossey channel, uh these are the transport videos that I have over on my other uh channel, Neil's Travel, Trains and Stops. And um if you're watching on the travel channel, this is where I try out new cameras. But uh if uh if you've reached this point in the video, thank you for hitting the thumbs up or hit the microphone or the subscribe button. I'm going to get a coffee over here now. And right here on screen is what YouTube knows you want to be watching next. Made it.

Heat. Heat.

Especially if a macOS update replaced your beautiful desktop picture  with a "depressing forest"!
We’ll explore Apple’s stunning Dynamic Wallpapers and Moving Aerials (including how to find that sneaky download button!), and I’ll demonstrate the lightning-fast way to set any personal photo as your desktop background with just two clicks. Perfect for beginners or anyone switching from Windows to Mac. Also how to have the same background image on multiple displays.

How do you change the desktop background wallpaper of your Apple Mac, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air or Studio? I've just had a software update and it's changed my desktop background to this monstrosity. It used to look gorgeous with gentle rolling fields, which I loved. But now it's this depressing forest where bad things happen. What's behind that trunk? I'm more used to using PC Windows, so this is new to me. But there are a couple of ways to change the MacBook background. Stick with it because there are a few tips coming up that helped me. To change your MacBook desktop, first go to system settings, this cog icon here, or it's in Launchpad. Look for system settings. Or we can right click or double tap anywhere on the blank desktop and choose this option here, change wallpaper. This method is the longest way to do this, but it does show all our options. On the left hand sidebar, scroll down to wallpaper. Click on that tab. And here is the main control center for how our desktop looks. At the top, we have add photo or add folder or album. This is great if you want to use your own photos. For the backgrounds made by Apple, we can use these shelves below. We've got dynamic wallpapers that change light throughout the day, light in the morning, dark at night, and the moving backgrounds, landscape, city, underwater, and earth. By the way, if you see a little down arrow next to the title, you need to click it once to download the video. So, if I click on it here, you can see the download button. All the other backgrounds start instantly when you click on them. If you want to shake things up on your Mac, use shuffle aerials. That shows us something new each time. And at the bottom here, we can have a solid color for our background. Let's try pink. That's probably too much even for me. I'll show you the quick way to do this. But by the way, let's go back to the top. The toggle that says show on all spaces means you can have your desktop picture everywhere if you use multiple desktops or spaces. The second method to do this easily without digging through all your settings. Find any image file on your MacBook. I've got a folder and a picture right here. Click on it or two finger tap on the trackpad of your MacBook. Then go down to the bottom of the menu and choose set desktop picture. Whoa. I definitely do not want this one. So, let's go back to wallpaper for the picture I actually really want that shows the hills... Sonoma horizon. And I'll click on show as screen saver and all spaces. Congratulations, no more depressing forest. Thanks for hitting the thumbs up button and tell me in the comments if you prefer the moving landscapes or your own photos. And right here are all my other MacBook tips and tricks for YouTube creators.

How do you record the screen of your Apple iPhone? Maybe you're sharing a funny TikTok or Instagram reel or recording a tutorial for YouTube shorts. Apple makes screen recording simple, but the iPhone's built-in screen recorder is slightly hidden. If you can't find it, don't worry. We'll activate this together. Here's my iPhone on screen so you can follow along. First, swipe down from the top right hand corner. This opens the control center with all its quick toggles for switching things on and off. Look for a button with a circle and a dot in it. That's the screen record button. Here's a pro tip. If you long press on this button, so hold it down for a few seconds, you can turn your microphone on or off if you want to be heard during the screen recording. If the button isn't there, long press anywhere on a blank part of the screen, then press on this option at the bottom here, "add a control". Click on that and on this screen there's a bar, search controls. Here we'll type screen recording and that brings up the screen recorder icon. Just tap on the icon and that adds the screen recorder to your control panel. And now it's active. We can just press it or long press the button to start screen recording. It gives us this 3 second countdown. And then we know it's recording because there's a red recording dot and a bar at the top of the screen. To stop the recording, just tap that bar and then it saves the video to photos in your camera roll on your phone. Congratulations, you can now record anything on your iPhone screen. If this video is helping, thanks for hitting the thumbs up button. And right here is what YouTube knows you want to be watching next.
